thats the idea of it. but you also want to keep in mind. loud at idle is really loud at heavy acceleration. I have a highflow res from magna flow with a muffler. it has great low rumble at idle and cruising. but when Im on it. it is noticeable and much louder then idle. another thing most city have a noise ordinance. if you exceed a set db level they will cite you. last thing you dont want to sound like a rice boy. I know I had no res for a month and it was stupid loud and raspy.

I was wondering, why should I take it to an exhaust shop? Is there welding that is needed to be done? My dad owns a mechanic shop that I can use. Just a FYI so if its all able to just be bolted on then I can do that.

Also, I would love to do a dual out exhaust with just cutting a hole or buying a new plastic bumper cover thing.

I say exhaust shop bc i dont have a welder or a tubing bender... i REALLY dislike "bolt on" exhausts.. exhaust clamps fail and your pipes leak or fall..


the dual out exhaust lower part to the bumper can be found at your local parts yard..

Sweet, so what exactly gives you more power? Like HP. I don't just want the sound, I want the performance also. Would just buying those 3 items that you suggested be the same as a full catback?

magnaflow high flow res 2.5", with a magnaflow muffler 2.5" in dual 2" out with 4" wicked flow tips.

yes there will be a LITTLE more power. you bought a g6. your limited on everything when it comes to performance. you might gain 5hp out of the whole deal. ALMOST anything compared to the stock setup is going to be an upgrade in performance, the high flow res and muffler will be less restrictive, which means better for the car. and yes. that is a cat back system. anything after the catalytic converter is a catback system.

by 2.5" and dual 2" out is fine because it helps with keeping some back pressure since its smaller then the pipe that come in, but theres 2 of them which is like having a single 4" out

Awesome, thanks. I realize it's a G6, but which will give more performance? The full catback system or this 3 option route others are taking?

neither is going to be that noticeable between the 2...the custom setup will be plenty cheaper

is the 2.4L exhaust the same from 05 - 07 to 2009. I want to get the magnaflow exhaust but it says it only fits years 05-07. Do you know if it will work?

if it says its for specific years, then its probably for specific years. You need to google diagrams of the bottom of the car for your model and that model if your that interested in it. I am going to tell you that your also wasting money on the who setup when you could save some cash, get the magnaflow high flow, magnaflow exhaust, and 2 tips for half the price they want for the full kit.

yah, I only have a 3.9 V6 anymore then that is over kill. I believer the OEM exhaust is 2.25" with dual 1.75" out. its small. I went quarter inch larger with high flow res and better muffler for more performance. the res is to reduce the rasp and make it quieter

oh wow. i didnt realize that the original outlet's on the stock mufflers were 1.75.... i thought we had 2.25 all the way out the back..
