              Eric,

I just ordered these and I'll see if this helps for me.

I just think my ground wire is too small with the relay's I'm using, these relays appear to use a thicker gauge wire. It's never the lead ground wire from the bumper that melts it's the smaller guage wire from the relay that appears to be the fault. so hopefully this will fix my issue. The relay's I've been using are there cheap ones from Home Depot. So hopefully, just hopefully, these higher quality ones will solve my issue.

MY other big issue is that there isn't any place to really tie down those relay's once there hooked up. I think when the water splashes in the fender is gets into that cavity where the resonator used to live and it get on the relay's and gets them wet. I'm almost wondering if I need to wrap them in a plastic bag and shrink-wrap them.

              I'll keep you posted.

                • Re: Eagle Eyes Dual CCFL Halo Projector Headlights

So here's the story behind mine. I bought mine on craigslist for really cheap, thought i was getting an awesome deal. Until the fog. The passenger side headlight fogged up badly, and there was a visible puddle of water in the bottom of the housing after the first rain.

I tried to seal them up using an epoxy. However, the leak was too bad. I ended up accepting the fact that I got p'owned out of $150. A couple months flash-by, I'm about to buy a brand new set from SaberSport. And ask if it's possible to just buy one. I explained my story up to this point to him, and he was extremely sympathetic. Even though I did not buy them from their company, they offered to replace them for free. I paid shipping both ways, but yesterday in the mail I received a brand new set of Eagle Eyes.

The inside halo of the new headlights was very dull at first, and I was getting worried about it. So I called sabersport back, and they said just let them run for a week or so. Sometimes the CCFL's need time to warm up. Less than 1 hour later, it was up to full brightness.

I HIGHLY recommend this product, and highly recommend SaberSport. This is my all time favorite G6 mod. You will not be disappointed.

-If its the money that scares you, trust me, they're worth it.
-If you don't like the black housing that everyone seems to have, look deeper, they make a stock-clean chrome one.
-And if you think you like the sypders better, stop lying to yourself.

I pulled my drl fuse and they don't automatically light up during the day. I had to flip my parking lights on or my fogs on for them to come on.

Awww. Makes sense given the wiring available. I really want to use them as DRLs but I don't want my lows to light up in the day.

Has anyone tried to re-wire them?

Alright so I just got my headlights tonight and I installed them... but I found out that both didn't fit properly! If I push them in to put the screws in they have a huge gap underneath... and also where they meet the fender it doesn't look right... as if the lens wasn't pushed in enough...

                        Anyone had these issues?

EDIT: It's really cold out here and tomorrow will be the coldest of the winter (-36C / -33F) and I did install them at night... I'll try to have a better look at them this week-end.

With my Guard Rail incident that happened on the 2nd of this month my car has been at the collision shop getting the whole right side from the front fender back to the rear fender re-done; I pick her up tomorrow I can't wait (I paid the extra $60 to have them repaint the whole car). About a $3800 insurance claim nothing structural just cosmetic (I told the insurance guy I paid 375 for the EE's so he knocked that much off the $500 deductible), I was only going 6 mph when I hit black ice and slide into the guard rail. Ironically if I hadn't lowered my car 3 week earlier it could have been worst....

But I had to order new EE's as-well since the right side unit crack upon the impact on the guard rail. The shop installed them but not the HID's, I have to swap the screw caps on the rear of the lights. Before I brought them to the shop both HID'S on the left and right still fired so it shouldn't be hard to get them installed.

I've missed my baby, driving this Enterprise Chevy Traverse (GEICO rules) this month hasn't been the same...

So I've been running these for a week now, and they are awesome. However there have been some hiccups along the way:

The first time I installed them I had a gap underneath so I didn't screw them in like usual. This resulted in a big misalignment on the sides:

Yesterday I took them apart (Passenger high beam wasn't working, turned out the negative wire wasn't plugged in) and I reinstalled them "the proper way". The alignment is fine now on top & sides, but I have a gap underneath.

It doesn't show too much from afar

However sometimes one of my halos doesn't get to full power (always the same one)... is that normal? I read other posts that says it can take some time and the cold surely didn't help... Guess I'll wait another 1-2 weeks before worrying?
