Indeed, I went to the shop yesterday, it's about a 1:30 minute drive from my house. They've done tunes before on G6's and they have dyno tests to prove it with pictures. (what surprises me is that no one on here has ever reported a successfully turbo, so it was interesting) I've already locked in $350 to install the headers (I saw someone one here put them on their 3.5L and I will order the same kit) and they will get back to me by the end of the week for the quote for the turbo. I told them to give me about 3 weeks to get the headers ordered and they said that's perfectly fine.

What's interesting is they suggested putting my turbo in the rear, which seems kind of crazy but I guess it's possible....

Its because its easier, loses a bit of efficiency but its easier to install and setup that way. Tuning G6's in general isnt impossible its the 05/06 thats the problem but your stuff says 2008 so you should be ok

What's interesting for me is the 2008 engine that I have in my G6 was made in 2012, lol! .... might explain why I get 35.6 MPG on the highway on cruise.... just a FYI, my original engine got hydrolocked at 38k (91k now)

Cant beat a fresh engine man!!!!! My only concern with that (and this is pure conjecture) is if you did a top to bottom swap IE did the 2012 come with injectors and everything or did you swap those off your 08?

Progressive at the time (Hurricane Irene) since I had a 100k warranty decided that the engine should be replace brand-new. It was installed at the dealership, so I'm going to assume all the right pieces are in her, lol. Although when I did the Energy Suspension sway bar bushings, I found my sway bar is the size that is suppose to be in the G6 GXP, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities..... to my knowledge everything is new, they ordered new injectors and everything, the whole engine was taken apart for insurance reasons.... metal shaving all over the place.

The only reason I ask is there was a small injector change I believe either after or during 2008 (I'd have to check) but it may skew your fuel economy readings if they did the whole thing pan to intake with the newer injectors. Not a huge deal just something to ponder

Could this mess with a tune since the MAS on the intake could be skewed?

Doh! - I just a email they said they won't do the tune - looks like you locked in another one! - They are however still doing the headers. (which these headers, exhaust and CAI, she is just screaming now for a tune, )

Yes it could I'd be curious what injectors it actually has to make sure we can get the tune straight

Well this weekend I'm doing a seafoam and changing my plugs/wires. I could see if there is some labels someplace on the engine, perhaps I could find out for you....

Take pics of the injectors and see if you can find an eight digit part number on one.

Very well. From the looks of my progression I'll probably order your tune mid April - early May. I just wanted to get all of the stiffer engine mounts and suspension installed before your tune, just so I can feel and handle the increase and so she wouldn't fall apart from all the stock crap, lol.

Its what it takes to do small changes on this controller, also the main reason I almost never do them for that controller. IF software existed for this controller $450 to MAYBE $600 would be in the ballpark $850 is insane. Just verified they use HP tuners which does not (nor does any of the other brands they sell) have the ability to do squat to your PCM.

Oh and anyone that advertises this as part of their "tuning" uhhhhh.... "Change Knock Sensor Settings"....

I"m not trying to be a dick it's just I've been dealing with this scenario for years and it sucks LOL
