I've used both systems in different cars and either way, power from the factory harness to the ballast or power from the battery with a relay to the ballast all work just fine-never had a single problem with either setup. As mentioned you can always buy the extra harness with the ground, power, and relay for each capsule if you like but it is not required on all kits. As a matter of fact I have the extra harnesses sitting in my garage for my WideView kit but it works completely fine without them.

How did you get to the mounting location for the ballasts? Did you have to remove the entire front bumper? Can you provide more details on this?

Thanks, I sent you a PM also.

you will see that when you take the headlight out...the bar is right behind and below it

so no you dont have to take fender off, just pop headlights out

sorry I didn't see that last post, yeah bluegtp is right-when you take each headlight out the "frame" of the car is sitting right there.

You don't wanna power HIDs off the car wiring. Get the power straight from the battery. Especially if you choose NOT to disable DRL, but even if you do, you should still get it from the battery. In some cases, HID ballasts will pull more amperage or wattage than the stock lighting as well, which could lead to problems with your wiring down the line.
Your right about that. A guy here at work melted his wires drawing the amps through his.

dont they just pull more than stock for the intstant that they start up? then it falls to only 35 watts which is 20 less than normal bulbs. Im pretty sure all you have to be worried about is overheating the wires, melting the insulation and getting a short and that wont happen in just an instant.

also, my kit mentions nothing about a relay. it just says to plug into the factory harness

I've been running my HIDs through the factory wiring for almost a year now and I've had no problems. My manual mentioned using a relay and wiring up to the battery, but I didn't do that.
