    Hey All!

I have recently puchased(via ebay) a set of new Dunlop sport tires that are 235/55R18. The seller insists that these came off of a G6 and were used on the car(they came mounted to OEM 18's which are now on my car with the original tires).

My local wheel/tire guy, who was supposed to install them today insists that they will rub slightly on the rear corner of the front fender-well.

My plan was to sell thse mounted on my O.Z. Racing wheels, but before I post an ad, I want to get some feedback on this tire size.

Finally, I checked the link below and it say's that the 235/55R18 is only .5" larger than the stock 225/50R18....this can't make THAT much difference, can it?

235/55/18 = 28.17 inches tall thats not going to clear the struts nor turn lock to lock. i'm running a 27.5 tall tire"235/30/22 on 8.5 wide wheel 30mm offset" and thats really pushing it, i have less than a 1/8 before i hit the strut. any taller will not work. if a 28" tall would work i would have bought 24's instead of 22's

I have 235-50-18s. Just going from stock 225-50-18 to the 235-50 just fits with no rub and larger then stock. a 235-55-18 might rub slightly IDK, it will be close. But if it does rub it will be minor and prob wont be a real problem

X2^, usually when you go wider, you want to go shorter on the sidewall height.

Thanks for the info guys. From eying it up, it appears that there will not be a problem....but I'd hate to sell these and find ou that they don't work.

I may just sell the wheels and tires seperately.

Yep, wish now I went like 235-45 (maybe 40). Only because would have been a slightly thinner tire and would have been like stepping the gear ratio up like 0.10
