I said it work, not that it is perfect for people who feel the need to race it every day!
It's unfortunate that you seem unable to understand that this is a family car, and the majority of families dont want headers, loud exhaust, intakes, etc they want a good car for a good price. That stuff makes cars more expensive.
Oh, one more thing...go into a Mercedes Benz dealership, talk to one of the representatives and tell them that the SLS AMG is a POS because it comes with an air filter and not a CAI...

Now that you mention it...ABSOLUTELY! Weather you like it or not, the G6 is an economy(ish) family car. It is designed to be stylish and compete with more luxurious vehicles while costing much less, one way they do that is through less expensive tires because they are adequate for most of the people using them. Oh, and since you clearly forgot, FLEET SALES ARE BASED PRIMARILY ON PRICE AND THE G6 IS A FLEET RENTAL CAR!!! Yup, thats right, your "black beauty" is nothing but a jazzed up RENTAL CAR!

and its unfortunate for you that you cant understand that it acts this way NOT racing too and in fact racing around causes the water temp to run COOLER than driving around town as more air/ higher speed through radiator= higher cooling capacity and richer AFRs= cooler combustion

in case you havent heard TWO DOOR CARS OR CONVERTIBLES are NOT FAMILY Cars doesnt matter if they come in a 4 door version or not

if you havent noticed from reviews on LS2s they arent adequate for ANYONE now matter HOW they drive their vehicle

you guys have NO FACTUAL INFO to back up your claims just backing some moron cuz you all either just feel like it or must hate someone that has the fastest G6 around........

            Re: transmission cooler for auto.

Ok, a lot of crap here.

1st. Most factory temp gauges aren't designed to be accurate. They are there to tell you if something is wrong. This is a common complain in the truck work, were they buy atfermarket gauges and sensor, because the factory aren't designed to display accurately.

2nd. If you baby your car when you drive, you have no use for an aftermarket tranny cooler.

3nd. If you live somewhere where temps are below 90 for 360 days a year, then a tranny cooler probably won't help.

4th. If you buy the aftermarket cooler, buy a quality one that regulates how much it cools based on temp. It is possible to run your tranny cold. The fluid expands and contracts, it also acts differently based on temp. This is why there is a W in oil specifications. W = Winter. The two numbers deal with the viscosity of the oil at different temps.

5th. If you live somewhere that get hot regularly, or you drive your car hard regularly, then a tranny cooler is a good investment.

6th. The G6 is a rental car. Civics are cheap grocery getters. Miatas are about the cheapest mid-life crisis roadster money can buy. These are facts about these cars. However your car is what you make it. Ignore it, its a beater. Baby it meticulously and its a show car. Upgrade and beat the living piss out of it, and its a race car.

mabey before you shoot something down so quickly you should invest in a dash hawk or guages so you can monitor what the temps REALLY are you would be shocked

i invite you all to bring your cars here so i can prove to you what your temps actually get up to so then you can come on here and tell eveyone how wrong you were!!
guy, you drive a g6 coupe with boltons and you're acting like you're the coolest dude ever who builds cars and races on the weekend. you aren't. you have been wrong in this entire trans cooling/temp argument, so you should just shut up and let it be. stop being a herp derp twelve year old and leave it be.

                    Re: transmission cooler for auto.

All I have to say on this is I do not have a tranny cooler, and I drive my car moderately hard around town. I have just under 50k and I can feel my transmission not acting correctly often. Not terrible, but noticeable. Not sure why, just stating that...

Its not just your car. For some reason all of the "manumatic" cArs GM makes are like that. My transmission is a bit grabby from time to time. From what the transmission tech says, its the way GM designed the clutch packs on them, so that they could be pushed to redline during manual mode operation and not slip.

5.3? I can throw numbers out too. all the vids I have seen of your car is 7-8 sec 0-60 and your 20-60 times seem to really drag. I'll shut up if you prove on your dashhawk your times are better.

dashhawk distance timings are worthless because of wheelspin.

i ran a 1.6 second 0-60 but i didn't get a pic of it and i no longer have a dashhawk so i can't prove it again. but i'm better than you.
