Top speed governor discussion

yea the VMS tune does not get rid of the governor....which was one of the reasons i got it, bc people said it did/would

i thought he said it pushes it to 150....when are you ever gonna go over 150?

My understanding is that the VMS tune effectively eliminates the governer from the ECM, but per Chris there may be a governer in the ABS module.

Maybe pulling the ABS fuse would eliminate the governer completely, but I'm not about to try.

I wish there wasn't a dam top speed limiter. I raced a new dodge (i have no clue what it was but a simmilar size to the 6er). There were two kids in it. I kept down shifting and pulling on them when they were behind me. They followed me to the thruway and i was stuck behind a car so they gunned it and flew around me. I droped her in 3rd and gave her hell and was catching on them and then.......... top speed limiter kicked in ARRRRG! Both of us probably hit owr govener becasue we seemed to all of a sudden stopped puling at the same time.....

my g6 seems to stop at somewhere round 112, now in my truck, i had the govoner changed when i installed a power programer, it says it raised it from 97mph to 148mph, now there is only 2 times that ive florred it, bolth were on i90 west, leaving downtow chicago in the express lanes, i cant tell 4 shure how fast it was going, the spedo cuts off at 100, i never got the govoner to cut in, i ran into traffic so i had 2 stop, but it was quite a bit past 100, and was still accelerating by the time i had 2 stop

Man....I have taken mine to 100 but thats it. When I get going that fast
I remember the black box and warranty issues and tires and deer and and and.....then I back down to a cruising 80 or so. I doubt I will ever hit any speed limiter.

I hit my limiter at about 115MPH during my locally-legendary chase with a Mustang GT on I-76. It's these damn shitty Eagle LS2 tires, they are pants. Fortunately the Mustang topped its limiter around the same. Friggin' Goodyear...
