    There is not a measurable difference in performance between the 18" - 24" resonator. However, there is a slight difference in sound between them. The 24" will be slightly quieter than the 18".

      I was wondering if anyone knew the stock diameter of the exhaust? I know the GTR is 2.5in tubing but i just am not sure if stock is 2.25in. Any info would be great. Thanks

        K, I'm buying the GT-R system soon and I am torn between adding the resonator or not. I want it loud but not too loud - biggest concern is on road trips, I don't want to have it too loud in the cabin.

        Any of you guys out there with the GT-R exhaust with and without a res let me know what your thoughts are.

          without res, anywhere in 4th gear is pretty calm. speeds from 45-80 are pretty quiet, floor it and you get noise again. i was concerned with the noise as well but it sounds great in 4th gear even low rpm 3rd gear

            im putting a resonator on mine, its alittle loud for me, and sounds alittle too uncontrolled somewhat, just because of some of the sounds it makes.
            done: CRAB CAB woot woot!, aftermarket black taillights, chrome upper recessed grilles, dual rear valance and gt-r exhaust system, duplicolor red painted calipers with R1 concept e-line drilled and slotted rotors and posi-quiet ceramic brake pads all around
            to do (soon): window tint
            to do, maybe (later): painted headlights, color matched recessed grilles
            need: g6performance.com decals

                    The biggest concern I have for the "loudness" is hearing it in the cabin with the windows up set on cruise at 60-85 or so. I don't mind it around town, haven't heard it in person yet but I don't think it'll be too loud in the city. The other concern would be to eliminate the raspiness or the gurgling sound after the engine is revved, but after reading some of Sam's posts that gets better as the system breaks in and that's just the backpressure associated with our motors, not much we can do about it.

                    Still, even though I effin have to, I can't wait to get it on the car. Ready to hear her purr

                      what benefits can i get from changing my stock exhaust piping to a mandreal bent pipe at 2.5 inches, keeping my flowmaster muffler and changing my cat to a high flow cat from flowmaster? Would it be worth if I can get it done for cheap.

                      And has anyone ever changed the headers and is it recommended?

                        Milzy is working on 3.6 Headers. they are going to be the first with headers.
