Don't laugh, I think you get what I'm saying. Money isn't a issue but cant see throwing $600+ on shinny pipes when the car is at 132k miles. So can it be done or what can I do? Thanks guys x_X
I don't know much about the 3.5L cars and what it looks like underneath. I know my car has a camaro style muffler (1 input / 2 output). If you scroll up in this thread, you should be able to see my post with what i put on my car. I can't imagine you having to spend anywhere close to $600 for what you want though. I suggest looking all through this thread and looking around on youtube for a while until you get an idea of what you want.

You have a lot of options. You can definitely get it all done for under $400. Your stock pipes should be 2 1/4". Alot of guys have replaced their resonator with a straight pipe, then replaced their stock muffler with a louder / high flow muffer in the back. If you do this, it will create a kind of rasp noise. You can look at videos on youtube of guys who replaced their resonator with straight pipe (resonator delete) and decide if you like it or not. Another option is to replace the resonator with a flow through muffler, like a glass pack, and also replace the stock muffler with a high flow muffler. This will take care of the rasp noise and make your exhaust sound good.

You should start by deciding if you want to keep the 2 1/4" pipe all the way back, or replace it with 2 1/2" or higher. If you choose to use 2 1/2" all the way back, you'll need to buy a coupler:

From there, you can decide which kind of flow through muffler you want. Just make sure it's 2 1/2" in and 2 1/2" out. The flow through should look like this:

Next, you can search for which type of muffler you want. You will probably need to find a Camaro style 2 1/2" in / 2 1/2" dual out. Like this:

Now you're ready for the tips. I put 4" tips on mine and it looks pretty good. You shouldn't need to worry about buying any 2 1/2" piping. The muffler shop should have that. Once you shop around and find everything you want within your budget, make sure you find a reputable muffler shop that won't charge you too much.

        ...and that's my 2 cents

No problem. Summit Racing has descent prices, and you can search by inlet and outlet size to make sure you get what you want.

if you get THAT camaro muffler.. you'll want to buy a "tight 90*" bend.. most shops won't be able to bend tight enough and will have to install it funny..

Does anyone have a GM Performance exhaust clip somewhere? I would really like to hear how it sounds installed on the 6.

So looking over some videos on YouTube... Sounds like I hate the flownaster setups, magma flow cracks off throttle to much. Sounds like I like the cherry bomb glass pack setup best. So question for you guys is what size is best for the 3.6l? The glasspacks are like a resonator or straight through muffler?

Might be noob questions but I'm just learning about exhaust still even from my old Celica system. Was straight with a resonator and a straight through muffler but that was a turbo setup. NA is where I'm lost

I bought a 2" x 6" flex pipe to relace the rotted one on my 06 gtp. Is an okay size to use? Autozone had that and a 2.25" and I too what I thought was the same. The one under my at turns out to hav a larger diameter. What will be the difference if I go with the 2" instead because I'm getting it taken care of real real quick.

it will be a choke point for the exhaust gas. Stock exhaust is 2.25"

Does it benefit to go 2.5" full exhaust? Also what's the power levels of the exhaust manifold? Is there a better flowing header or more even flow

no, there are no headers for the 3.9L. yes it benefits to go to 2.5"
