$10k is a bit high. On low boost the 3.9 (8 psi max) will more than handle it with stock internals. If you go with a remote mount you will take away some of the tuning issues. Headers being one of them. Doing this wont be that much of a nightmare you just cant cut any corners when it comes to the install. I do plan on doing this by next summer. I have dumped a lot of money in trans work and now I am almost ready for boost.

you still need to tune and if youre running boost youre going to have to run a full exhaust system to handle the added flow of gases. also you have the issue with the MAS (mass airflow sensor). theres a lot to contend with adding a turbo to a modern NA car with a MAS. you will also have to find a way to lower the compression ratio. I believe ours is like 9:1. when the Doc had his turbo. he was only pushing about 2lbs of boost. anymore they car went haywire with CEL's. as for 8lbs of boost, esh. I dont know if the internals can handle it on the 3.9L (just with the history of our motors having issues with them). Im glad you beefed up you trans cause thats our weakest link. a remote turbo setup is pretty much the only way. as there is very little room in the motor bay. so if you are going to do this best of luck to you.

On a smaller turbo 8lbs wont be bad. And a 9:1 cr isn't high enough to need to be lowered. Does anyone know the lz9's maf's limit?

Lowering compression for boost is a thing of the past now that tuning is what it is. 9.8:1 compression would be perfect, plus ontop of that the lz9 has oil swuirters for each of the pistons to keep the temps down in the cylinders. As long as you keep a moderate afr like 11:1 you'll be fine. Just have make sure whoever is tuning the car knows what they're doing.

I apologize if this is in here somewhere, but after skimming through 20 pages, I could only really see talk of a turbo setup. My question is, what about the S/C off of a 3800 for the 3900? I know the motors are different, but with the 3900 only being 100cc larger, could it not be possible to swap the top ends of the motors, and have the supercharger from the 3800 work with the 3900?

I remember something about you will have to have an adapter plate made to fit the intake manifold on the 3900 and supercharger from the 3800. also you would need a hood with more clearance

not to mention the fact that the 3800 is a 90* V6 and the 3.9 is 60* they have NOTHING in common parts wise or design lol

Another hurdle to get over with the m90 would be to moving the power steering pump, at least on the f40 cars it is.

So next year be prepared to be awed and shocked next year when you see a G6 twin turbo'd along with a complete engine and transmission build up. Pictures will be posted when it takes place and it will happen after I get back from deployment next year. I know its pics of GTFO but they will be up while and after it is all done. Got a shop ou there in KS that will be helping me throw it all together and write the programming for me.

And it isnt going to cost $7000 for the turbo setup. As of right now it is only going to run $3800 for the entire setup. Then engine and tranny hardening will run about the same then tune is a variable due to the fact that it could take a while for it to be done. I am not hack sawing it in the garage, I have been talking with people who custom build and tune everything and have been proven time and time again. So dont negitive comment. When it takes place you will know, that I promise you. Plain and simple.

I thought the issue was dealing with the VVT and Variable Intake Manifold we have.

Oh and there is absolutely nothing wrong with making your Honda faster instead of buying a GTO, and honestly I would probably perfer the Honda over the GTO. The reason the Civic guys have so much aftermarket support is because they have no problems shelling out the cash when parts come along. Dropping 800-1100 on an equal length long tube header is completely ok over there and spending anything less then 600 is considered antichirst. If we want that kind of aftermarket then more people are going to have to start bugging the smaller custom shops (like S&S before they went out of business) and acutally forking over the cash when push comes to shove.

Say it with me, there is no replacement for displacement.

I am just waiting for deployment to hit so I can drop her off and they can start doing the printing and work on her and then coming back seeing her and taking her on the streets and the track. I dont care wtf anybody says it is going to happen and it is going to succeed.
