Ok so if I want the eagle eyes halo projectors, what is the problem everyone experiences with them, how hard is it to fix and what parts would I need. I also plan on putting ddm tuning bulbs in the low beams.

I've seen just about every pair of EE's eventually haze and peel, and they have moisture problems. The moisture can be fixed by applying a bead of gasket maker or silicone around the entire headlight where the lens and black plastic meet. It's easy to do.

As people know around here, I'm big into using proper HID projectors with HID bulbs, but I have to say the projector inside EE's responds even better to HIDs than they do halogens. The only downside is the chrome paint inside the projector is cheap quality and will start to burn/fade in 2-3 years.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy Spyder projector headlights if you're looking for lighting performance. They suck big time.

Ok so its not actually the ccfl rings or the function of the headlights, its just that the lens peels, do you think that a headlight lens protector from any auto parts store would help.

The halos tend to burn out quickly on those housings as well, I forgot to mention that. Lens protector will only work to a certain point, so you'll eventually have to restore the lens.

Anyone care to share their opinion on whether these are worth installing in a pair of eagle eyes? http://www.fatwallet.com/eBay-coupon...n-kit/77586-3/

I wouldn't bother. That looks too good to be true.

Is the "brand" worth a flip?
If I try a pair and lose $25 I won't be upset as I have to replace a bulb anyways.

It's been my experience that you get what you pay for with HIDs.
Cheap out and they'll likely flake out often

Has anyone tried those new LED kits? They have fans to dissipate heat but sealed inside the headlight housing I'm skeptical it will be able to do so properly.

There's bunch of people on the silverado forum I'm on that use them. You can get ones with just the heat sink on the back, no fan. The back of the headlights on the gm trucks don't have caps like the g6 does though so heat dissipation isn't as much of an issue.

As far as the light itself goes, they seem not too bad. Not as bright as HID's, and a bit less light scatter. Still a major improvement over stock though as far as output goes.

Thanks for the info. I might be buying a kit to test it out.

For these cars I would probably get the ones with the fan. There won't be much air movement in the headlights so the fan will help provide some. They're also a lot longer than the standard bulbs, so you may need to get some of those longer caps that TRS sells.

My old boss started selling LED kits, they're pretty legit nowadays. The beam seams real precise. I might be giving it a shot...
