[SOLVED] License plate lamp no longer functions

The license plate lamp no longer functions, I have replaced the bulb and it simply does not light up.

Where do I start as far as diagnosing it? Obviously it appears to be getting no juice, does anyone know what fuse its running on, or what could be the issue.

is there anything else not functioning? Maybe check the fuse?

No, everything else as far as I can tell is working on the car. Parking lamps, running lamps, break, head lights etc. are all working.

Should be in the book as to what fuse it runs off of. I'd double check that before getting too much into it. It is a kickass reason for them to pull you over at night though!

check the wires right behing the bumper. i seem to remember seeing that wires chafe there

I checked the manual. Nothing about the "License Plate Lamp".

The parking lamp fuse is good (number 6 in the trunk). Guess the only other thing to check is the wiring .

EDIT: Do I need to take the bumper off? How do you get into the wiring in there?

Fixed.

I pulled back the bumper and it was obvious instantly. The light assembly connects to another connector, which was behind the bumper, and the line coming from the fuse box to the connector had become disconnected.

Reconnected it, all is good .
