Re: Light Bulb Sizes
Well, I found the bulbs! Goto http://www.superbrightleds.com/ and click on the Car Bulbs on the top left, then towards the bottom click on Instrument Cluster & Guage Backlights. The bulbs for the HVAC control knobs are called NeoWedge series LED Lamps, no need to worry about the high powered LEDs. I purchased the 4MM bulbs in red.
My experiences with buying these bulbs was a trip. I first purchased the 3mm, got them and they were to small. So I proceeded to buy the 5mm, got them and they were to big! WTF!? So, i returned the 3mm and 5mm and got my money back fairly easy! Bought the 4mm bulbs and they fit, but were a bit to small to screw onto the mainboard of the control panel. I then took some pliers and forced them into the socket....the plastic was soft enough to bend and fit just right. After I installed all the bulbs I plugged the HVAC control panel in and NONE of the bulbs worked. I took the bulbs out and had to tweak with the small metal contact points so that they would make a better connection. After that, all the bulbs worked perfectly! It's been 5 years since I had bulbs on the HVAC controls and now I have them....only spent $9, instead of $300 at the dealer!
Sorry for so much details.
