the 3.6 is vvt also correct? or did that get swapped out during the newer models coming out
the 3600 is a VVT as well. at least it is in the Malibu, so i can't imagine it's different in the G6...

It is VVT. Its not independently variable intake and exhaust lobes as it uses simple cam phasing to advance, or retard the camshaft but it does show gains. Its one of the reasons the 3.9L makes peak torque near 2800rpm and still makes peak power at 6000rpm.
