  • What are good rim brands?

I am in search for good rims.
I have no idea what "good" rims are and there are tons and tons of brands.
Can anyone tell me what are brands are considered good?
I dont mean good as in $1,000 a peice, I am talking what are good rims for under $500 a peice?

Those that are truly good are expensive. Companies like HRE, Boze Forged, and iForged use forged aircraft quality aluminum to produce their wheels, creating a lighter, but more durable wheel. Your cheaper wheels are usually spun cast aluminum which can be heavier than cast wheels and also less durable. You have to really watch out for cheap Chinese knockoff wheels. Ive heard of cases where people used those wheels and they broke when the car hit a pothole. Low profile tires increase the likely hood of wheel damage if you hit a pothole. Unfortunately, forged aluminum wheels cost a bit more than cast wheels. HRE wheels are considered to be the one of the best out there and they custom make the wheel to fit your car, but they are about $1500/wheel. Boze/ZE Forged is one of the cheaper of the forged wheels Ive seen with wheels around $600/wheel. I think American Racing has some forged wheels as well.

OZ. Lightweight cast alloy. Look at the Ultraleggera's especially.
