    Re: Turbo/ Super Charger info.

I need a programmer. Has anyone tried the Superchips 2825. Anyone have any thoughts? I don't want to send out my ECU if I don't have to. As for the turbo, I would think it would match right up. I mean being the same engine and all. I have another question. Let's say I add a Hahn turbo kit, Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust, Magnaflow 2.25" O2 catalytic converter, and a Zex 4 cyl. direct port nitrous kit at 75 hp. Assuming everything fits correctly and is installed perfectly and has a proper tuning, would the stock engine be able to handle all that? Or do you think that the stock parts would blow apart/get damaged?

    EDIT
What about the HP Tuners programer. Will that work with the 2.4L G6 to program it with a turbo, exhaust, and nos?

like I said I'm not that familier with that engine but assuming that they are the same as the cobalt you shouldn't had a problem as LNG as u lower the compresion a but like mentioned before and a few other things and it should be fine. Even though thy a re the sane wngibs the turbo might not be exact fit as far as routing abd such cuz they are two different engine. Bays. As far as tuning is concerned I would go with hp tuners just look to see if it is supported I don't see why not

ok. thanks for the help. i'll just have to make my own custom piping/tubing if it don't fit. I will lower the compression. the engine should be able to handle all that with a lower compression. the car is supported by hp. i'll have to see if it works with turbo and nos tunes (different tunes-street and nos). i'm going to see if my local shop will take care of it all. esspecially the tune. thanks for your help.

            Re: Turbo/ Super Charger info.

I have one last question. Is nitrous bad for the engine? Does it really eat and ruin the engine? Even if correctly installed? I hear a lot of people saying that nitrous will eat away at the engine. Could you give a rough outline to the pros and cons of nitrous? Thanks. Sorry for all the newb questions...

              Re: Turbo/ Super Charger info.

overLl dollar for dollar nos is the cheapest way to produce hp and torque. You won't get any engine wear as long as you choose the right HP rated kit. If you go with too much up then you could see problems. Cause the components may not be able to handle the extra load. For low hp applications you should go with a dry kit to start off with. Don't go with a cheap wet kit cause you could run into problems if the fuel/nos ratio is very uneven and if you. Running lean you could get backfire and mess somes things up. However member on here found with his dry kit his injectors were running at 95% and he had to replace several of them. He went to using a wet kit and didnt have that problem,he went with a good harrispeed wet kit which are nice. Like I said the cheap wet kits I wouldnt recommend but if your willing to spend the extra bucks you could go with a wet kit

ok. thanks. i'm mainly concerned about it melting the engine from the inside out. or deteriorating it. I was going to use the direct port wet shot from zex. good name and better than a plain wet shot. thanks again.

yes. you'd have to relocate the intake or otherwise make room for the SC, but there is space.

Edit: also, my name is in HUGE letters in my sig.

That is right were the intake tube goes. Now all you have to do is figure out where it is going to go.

                              Re: Turbo/ Super Charger info.

A Centrifagul Supercharger might be a better course of action as opposed to a Roots Style supercharger. Using a Paxton Novi RR (Reverse Rotational) Supercharger would allow us to keep the intake tube going in the direction it goes now..here is a description of the difference between the NOVI 1000 and NOVI 1000RR

The NOVI-1000RR (reverse rotation) is identical to the original NOVI-1000, except that it is driven counter-clockwise and the supercharger mounts "backwards" with the intake facing forward. This allows the supercharger to be driven by the accessory drive belt, eliminating the need for a separate drive system.

Its a little hard to describe this..but im gonna try my best. What I was thinking would be..where the impeller would be connected to the Air filter and tube with MAF....instead is connected to the tube that goes to the throttle body. At least thats how i envision it. Without actually seeing one..and seeing how it would work, its very hard to visualize it in my head...Seeing the picture here (hope it works if not direct link)

                              http://www.theracecarfactory.com/assets ... r_best.gif

shows the SC's pulley system..and the intake tube on the SC..the tube and filter with MAF would be connected there..and the side with the impeller would be connected to the tube that goes to the throttle body so it works counterclockwise to suck the air right into the supercharger..and we could use the existing pulley system of the engine to power the thing. The only other hurdle would me mounting it with some sort of custom bracket. Since superchargers don't need a custom exhaust manifold like turbochargers do. It would might a bit more feasible. I've been doing research and trying to visualize this project as best that I could...lol..its taken me a while to collect my thoughts.. What do you guys think about this?
