Ok here it is, I have been learning over the last few days about really playing with fuel injectors. First and formost I know the G6 fuel injectors on the pounds are plenty for the engine 3900. I forget how much the G6 3900 fuel injector is, 24-25 LBS if I remember correctly? I do not know the PSI maybe 49? Woundering if we can capitalize on that?
Let me start with an example, my 4.0L jeep has a 21 lbs injector at 39 PSI. If you want more power with mods you can put in Ford 24 lbs injector at 39 PSI and you will lose MPG untill you have a ported head then MPG back to where they where. Now on a plain jane stock engine or some mods you can go to a Ford 19 lbs injector at 49 PSI. Because its a 4 nossle injector at higher PSI MPG and HP pick up.
So with all that said as a back ground, if our G6 3900 injectors are say 25 lbs (but still not sure on the PSI, I am guessing 49?) what about swaping in the 98 LS1 injector for more HP and fuel econmoy because its 25.2 lbs but its at 58 PSI. The incressed PSI would alow the fuel to atomize (burn) more effecently in the cylinders so we would pick up MPG and HP.
Am I on the right track or way off?
2nd, anyone has the exact 3900 pound and PSI ratings?
