the whole matter of the point is....that the headers for 800 arent coming from the company that you are putting down, the are coming from s&s headers, which is why the whole debate got started

Ok, time for me to chime in here now. I'm in for headers. My concern and my only concern, is how much will the auto in the 3.5 GT handle as far as added HP?
I have a CAI, and 2 1/2" exhaust so far. Now, I went to 2 1/2" because I thought I'd add headers at some point.

Actually, one of the first things Im going to invest in performance is rather a new built 4t45E or a 5 speed swap from a Cobalt/Ion Redline. 4T45's are known to be weak links in these car if not built up. However I have no doubt the stock trans can handle I/H/E combo, and even a good tuning.

I don't think this community has 25 people ready for headers yet.

                      Sorry to be the realist!

that's why he asked about finding someone to make them for less than 25 people...but then again S&S would make them for 10 people...if we each paid $2,000 which would be the equivalent of 25 people at $800

Just stating a fact, plus S&S is not really being forthcoming in answering my questions.

I'm interested if we can get this together.

I have a newb questions though. I've only done exhaust work on turbo cars, in which you would replace the 02 housing, down pipe (which contains the cat), and the cat-back. If I were to get headers and the GT-R catback, what section contains the cat?

i believe that headers just replace the manifolds and instal before the cat and the GT-R instals after the cat (cat-back usually means it replaces everything behind the cat but not the cat itself). it should remain uneffected by either.

That was my understanding as well, but I was unsure. Won't leaving the stock cat create a bottleneck?
