Why would it be 2.5" in and 2" out, wouldn't you want it 2.5" in 2.5" out then 2.5" to a tip?

having 2" after the split is more then enough, you are going to dual 2" exit which is more then enough. you still want to keep a little back pressure

if you are talking about a resonator or glasspack. they very in prices from $18-$95

cut a few inches from the flex connecter back. replace with 2.5" mandrel bent tubing, resonator or glass pack (your choice). now you can go either 2ways. Y pipe (2.5") to 2 mufflers (2.5" in 2"out) or you can go with a Camaro style exhaust (2.5" in dual 2" out)

Any recommendations on the mufflers?

I'm a fan of Magnaflow. but if you go through the exhaust thread you can find other companys

I got flowtech afterburner mufflers with res. delete. It sounds very beastly. Plus the mufflers don't cost that much.

Just curious, do they even make aftermarket mufflers for the stock set up for the GXP?

They do make aftermarket mufflers, but they are universal and not specifically for a gxp, they do have whole aftermarket exhaust systems for g6s though.

i believe most are single outlet though... correct me if im wrong but last i checked magnaflows site it was a single and some reviews stated the installation requires some self fabrication?

This is probably the closest you're going to get to a stock style muffler.

I deleted my resonator on my car Monday, it doesn't sound raspy like everyone says it does. I will say when the car is in closed loop it does have a little rasp to it, but once its warmed up it sounds really deep. I like it.

Wats up G6ers? So I was going to put the GTR exhaust on my 09 GXP, but since that's not an option anymore I am leaning towards QTP Electronic Cutouts. I will place them just after the cats to maintain some back pressure, and I already have taken out my resonator for a straight pipe if it matters. I haven't gotten a tune yet, but am definitely going to get a WAMS after the Cutouts are installed. So does anyone see any issues with this plan? Also what size piping does our stock exhaust use so I know which size Cutouts to order. I appreciate any and all advice.
