Well, it's sold by the best ecotec company in the world. They hold several records and are pioneers in the field. There are a lot of Cobalt guys running that exact kit, so I'd say yes. That is a "legit kit". That said, that kit doesn't exactly work on our cars. It was designed for the cobalts.
Someone tried turbo'ing a 2.4L G6. They had setup close to that (not a kit) but it couldn't be tuned and blew a few things in the engine attempting to get it tuned as well to. Ultimately the project was abandoned (For reasons including the inability to tune and other issues that didn't have anything to do with the car)
2015 Chevy SS, Perfect Blue Metallic, Sunroof, No Spare, M6

2005 CGM GTO.
386whp, 364ft-lb torque, Corsa Sport Exhaust, Tuning, K&N Intake, VX Tails, Halo Projectors
2009 G8 GT SRM Premium Package, 6000K LED + HID Lows, Factory Bluetooth Retrofit, Atari Gauges, Factory iPod Control, 93 Octane Diablew Tune, Vararam Intake, MBR Strut Bar, Corsa Catback, DBA 4000SX Slotted + Drilled Rotors, Hawk Ceramic Pads.
The s/c kit is a closer fit. The cobalt exhausts won't work on our cars, so a turbo kit is out of the question. Unless you want to mod the kit to fit. The s/c kit probably just needs an intake a, a new tune, and some brackets.

The 2.4 can now be tuned using HPT. There are probably a couple of tuners in Texas that'd do it for <$300. I'd get on css.net and ask for a tuner.

It wasn't a matter of being able to tuning. It was a matter of getting the tune right. Things kept going wrong and such and the guy that tuned it had tuned 2.4L's for Cobalt's and such with turbo's before as well. Something weird about the G6 version.

If I remember the thread correctly, the tuner was an idiot. He advanced the timing 10* or something and blew the motor. The Cobalt, and the G6 use different ECUs so yes they are different, but the G6 still has a lot of F/I tables in it. I hold to it though, F/I shouldn't be an issue with a competent tuner.

Yea could be a tuner issue. You never know. Best example is a localish shop 50mi or so from me. Every GTO guy around here swears by him. About 2 years ago a buddy worked for him. He knows tuning and has done tons of cars and threw a LS2 into his 350Z and turbo'd the snot out of it to 700whp+. Works at the guys shop. Owners doing a tune for a guy that wants to have it pass emission testing they do here. Buddy shows him the well known trick to delete rear O2 sensors so it passes and no CEL even if you dont have Cats. Didn't know about it at all. Then the guy actually saved the tune he had on his LS2 350z without his permission and used it as the base for a couple builds he did. Needless to say buddy quit. Everyone in state still goes down there.
Oh and this guy also doesn't believe in Street Tuning at all. Only does Dyno tunes. I had my GTO dyno'd there. Wanted to add on to the tune I already have done by a guy I know saying it could make more power on the dyno. No. I ran logs with my Diablosport Trinity to record KR and stuff and set timings where they should be. Run a few dozen WOT logs and did hours of low rpm cruising to get each range dialed in properly. Any higher would give me undesirable KR. One guys dyno the same day that he tuned showed KR kicking in all across the board. You can see on the graph where the ECU was pulling timing.
Everyone swears by him but you just never know..

We'll for us v6 guys I was thinking a supercharger off the 3800 with an machined adapter plate? I don't see why we couldn't bolt that up to an lx9 or maybe an lz9 or lz4 any thoughts?
Not enough room under the hood.. its too mashed in to begin with.. LX9 is most certainly out.. the 3.9L has really bad mill problems under the heads causing gasket issues.. and the other options like the VVT 3.5 and the 3.6 are the most likely to be tuneable.. but again.. no space

Well that blows if I had to cut through the hood I would. I'm going to the junkyard this weekend to put up the supercharger or atleast see if they have one and see what room I have to play with the SC isn't that big and it mounts on the belt side so there has to be a way to make it work
