This thread is 4 months old, that has to be a record on here

My intakes don't have a 3-3.5 adapter, it's a straight 3" sleeve. Offhand, I think the MAF is 3.25 but I could be wrong. The silicone fits nice and snug on there. True, 9" will indeed be a tight fit for that location, be sure to post some pics so we can all check it out.

Sorry about the incorrect info regarding your intakes, that's just what it looked like from the pics I've seen. Nothing like seeing something in the flesh... or sheet metal. Nice to get to talk to you on here.

I'll be sure to take pics of the before and after. According to UPS, I should receive it tomorrow so installation will most likely take place Friday. I'll have the digital camera at the ready. I can't wait! :warped:

that intake will be sucking some hot ass air if you're just attaching it straight to the MAF

            Here's the before and after:

About 20 minutes later plus 2 heavy-duty draw-ties through the lower airbox bolthole for support(that's the SC in me)...

It fits like a glove ... I wanted to go ahead and post this. So much in fact that I haven't cranked her up yet. It's pretty dang hot in SC right now! For those who want to know, that's AEM Part# 21-2049DK. What do ya'll think? I'll let ya'll know how it sounds and all once I get back from my girlfriend's tonight.

^ is that part of a CAI or you just took off the resonator and put on a different filter??

To saywhat_playa: No CAI here. I simply removed the entire airbox(3 10mm bolts, 2 T25 Torx screws on MAF, and the clamp on the A/C line), attached AEM Part# 21-2049DK directly to the MAF, and used two heavy duty draw-ties through the lower 10mm bolthole to keep it from bouncing around. The restrictive intake resonator below the airbox is still on the car, but is no longer part of my GTP's intake. If I took it out, it would only be for minimal weightloss. I just didn't want to fool with it today.

To everyone else: Holy Crap! I'm very pleased with the results. I've already gained .4 miles per gallon after driving less than 30 miles. I'm getting 22.4 MPG on the DIC now. Also, big improvement in the low end. My GTP seemed to have a slight lag from a stop before this mod, but that pull we all like to have is now instantaneous and that's with me babying the throttle. As for putting the pedal to the floor, I get rewarded with the sound of my 3900 taking in all the air it wants. She screams! The sound is addictive!
