That's good. The main thing is that they were cast in the US. Most cheap rotors are cast in China and are of horrid quality. Many prone to warping and even cracking. There have been issues as well for when you try to turn them there is never any material left to turn on the lathe machine. A good set of pads actually seems to wear them down out of tolerances. It comes down to metallurgy and and quality oversight. That's sweet you found a good company at a competitive price. It's getting kinda hard these days in the automotive industry to find brands that still do that.

Hey scuba, were they pretty easy to switch out? I've read through the how-to section but I thought I'd ask. Everything I've found on the interwebs seems like Brake Motive is legit, and I was thinking about going with them.

Re: BrakeMotive Ebay Rotors and Brakes

Yeah I had no problems at all. I even did it in the parking lot of my old apartment complex so its not like I had all the comforts of home. I had done brakes before but never replaced rotors and it didn't take me very long.

The tutorials should have it pretty covered. Only things I can say:
        1) Use 2 jack stands. One for the car itself, then sit one in the wheel well. When you take the caliper off you can just sit it on the stand so you don't have tension on the brake line. Hanging from wire works to but I think its easy to just sit it on a stand.

        2) The rear brake tool is only like $10 at advanced. I'd also suggest a brake piston compressor tool, also like $10. If i had to pick one I'd get the compressor tool.

I rigged up the front with some C clamps to compress it down and it was a pain. The rear piston has 2 grooves and you can just open a pair of needle nose pliers, stick each tip in a groove and twist clockwise to compress it in.

        I'd suggest these:

        Front brake spreader: http://bit.ly/agv5k3

front brake tool is a definite must for disk brakes-makes the job much easier. As for the rears I just use whatever I have in the toolbox to turn the thing back also. I actually have the tool for the rear brakes but couldn't find the dang thing

Still no complaints my man. Stopping power is fine, haven't noticed any weird noises or anything at all with them. Still definitely recommend and I'm easily at 2000 miles on them now I'm sure. Good purchase and still can't get over the price.

Re: BrakeMotive Ebay Rotors and Brakes

I've been looking all over for rotors but I was scared of gettin screwed. Most places are wanting something like $130 a piece! Thanks Scuba.

Plus that seller has %100 feedback over 40,000 transactions! That aint easy to do I don't think. I'm buyin em and might as well paint the calipers while I'm at it. Thinking black or maybe yellow? Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow!!!

                and oh yeh...GO STILLERS

My only complaint is some low speed squeeling.

You definitely do get what you pay for, that's why I'm hesitant to go for such a good deal but so far everyone here has no major complaints. So I just ordered a set. $175 shipped, rotors and ceramic pads. I'm just tired of seeing those nasty rusted oem rotors everyday. We'll see how these one's work out

I just got my rotors today. They look to be of decent quality. But they're not vented like the listing leads you to believe, it says no where on the listing whether they are solid or vented but there's all pics of vented ones, so.......Jerks. I'm trying to remember if the OE ones are vented or not and it escapes me now. It's too damn cold to go outside and look

But they'll do fine I think. I hope

I just noticed it says CHINA on the edge of the rotor I f'n hate chinese parts!! Fortunately everyone has reported good things so far and I hope I can say the same after I put them on next week
