Sorry don't have time to run through 26 pages of posts to see if this was already posted...
I have a 2007 manual GT coupe. Considered drilling through the firewall, but decided against it since brake booster and steering joint takes up most of the area. Existing grommet above the clutch pedal is nearly impossible to use since it consists of a grommet on either side of the firewall with rubber tubing in between. Blah.
Struck gold behind the center console on the floor. Peeled back the carpet and the first layer of rubber insulation. You'll see two thick cables running through a large grommet. Poke the grommet with your finger and it falls right through, revealing a gaping hole you can stick your power wire through. Ridiculously easy. The hole comes out on the engine bay side towards the bottom center.
