sorry for the lengthy response time. there was another $30 component the install place added in to bypass the parking brake. It's the parking brake the H/U looks for before the screen turns on, so somehow they either installed a bypass circuit or literally bypassed the H/U itself - probably running a 12V signal straight to the pin which looks for the parking brake. I'm not certain about this, but I'm sure it has something to do with bypassing it.

Following up the install - the Quiet Car material I installed is doing a lot better then I thought it would. The worst part of the trunk rattle is actually not in the trunk - it is the plastic bumper. It sucks I can't get to it without taking the entire bumper off - which I am too busy / not motivated enough to do. I know it sounds amazing inside of the car, so that's all that really matters.

I know that thing is hitting like crazy! I had a 12 w7 in mine but my amp would cut out after a while b/c of the 3 ohm load but for the 10 or 15 minutes it did play it would literally take your breathe away and blow the flame right out on a lighter. I didn't want to pay the $700 bucks for the JL amp so I sold it and got an Alpine Type R and it isn't even close in comparison of what the W7 did but for $200 I get another Type R and then I'll be straight.

So Dubbzzz, how much did everything cost you, including installation?? My friend use to have 2 12" w7's in an 86' buick regal he had and those subs really bumped. By far the best subs that iv ever heard.
