  • Amp Rack & Enclosure Idea

Have to do a term project in my CAD class so I chose to do a trunk setup for the 6. Currently the amp rack is too long but that can be fixed. The two side enclosures probally dont have enough air space either....Anyways this is the basic idea. Simpleish for a first time fiberglassing project I hope. Hopefully do it this summer if I go through with it.

you must be good with cad or something. nice work. clever design. howeever most people are interested in conserving SPACE and maintaining good sound quality. designer stuff is for ricers

                First off...

                You CAD skills are AMAZING!!!!!!

and second off I love the design You would have plenty of room if you reversed mount your subs. If you want to mount them normal you would obviously need A LOT more air space. If you wanted to do is that way though all you would have to do is make your 3 pieces into 1 allowing more air space.

Anything can be built and you just tackled the hardest part, design.

once again looks great and if you need any help with the fiberglass part lemme know.

                Keith

Believe me this is nothing haha, my teacher equals amazing. I've only been taking cad for about 3 or 4 months now, although I can work 3d really well in my mind. I've tried to attach the three pieces, that is beyond me in skill haha and I'll definately take you up on the help in fiberglassing when I start it in may. How would sound qaulity be with inverted subs?

I'm using solid works 2009, I highly reccomend it. I can just go back and alter some dimensions to make the amp rack shorter without having to redo the whole model.

                  Trunk

If this all works out might do my whole center console with speakers sunk into the top long term dream

Don't use my trunk much anyways, flat tires might be a problem but AAA is a good thing to have haha. Ricers I find usually have substandard qaulity I'm going for amazing quality

Re: Amp Rack & Enclosure Idea

one question i did have is why do you have 5 amps? I can understand 3 but not the other 2.

I think the design would look more complete as 1 piece. I wish i had photo shop on my computer i would show ya what i mean, but I will throw something together when i grab my laptop tomorrow at work.

College student so i don't have much money, I can buy the 4 amps seperately and the subs seperately and keep adding to the system. There only 400w rms each. Plus I already have one amp and sub.

Still gotta fix the model of the top amp and route all the wires(thats gonna be hell!) Also got to add a power distribution block(did i make this up? or is it real), capacitor, and of course the subs

Re: Amp Rack & Enclosure Idea

if you chose to keep the subs separate here is a real simple but cool idea for rear mounted sub boxes

you could make it so 2 subs could fit on each side and hell you could make it all 1 piece if you wanted to for that matter.

Those look right nice! Would be pretty hard to model haha. Now would those only work for my subs if they were mounted inverted? How would they sounds inverted?

yup but you could do something like this if you didnt want to invert them

although what I was thinking is doing something like this but have your center piece molded into it.

I'll end up molding all three pieces together no doubt, but for the purpose of my term project being easy I'm gonna leave them apart haha
