AO is a BIATCH...wait until 12/26/06 when he gets to play buffalo again...and the big boys get there chance to mess him up...pretty dirty hit never had position, should have gotten a bigger penalty then that...

I don't think Buffalo has anybody that can mess him up, you are forgetting that kid can take as good as he can dish out.

I didn't think it was a bad hit, didn't look like he did it on purpose. But they sure did destroy them, didn't really see that coming.

bristol posted a link on here somewhere of all AO's best plays and hits. He's a tough sob and he probably won't be too worried.

first off not that bad a hit? he never once had position on him to legally hit him he was skating on his back half the whole time...also danny shot the puck in at the red line and got hit at the blue line...if you watch AO's path its pretty hard to believe that he "didnt do it on purpose"...and you dont think buffalo has anyone that can mess him up???? first he shit his pants when he saw the goose coming at him...plus you have adam mair you tossed some guy around like a rag doll in the conner...then you have the actuall fighter andrew peters...there is no way, if you play hockey which i am assumin you have, that you can accidentally knock a player from behind like that....ooo and give me some examples of when he has taken a big hit or a good punch to the face??? the nhl is pretty weak at handing out penalties, now if he had broken his neck/nose/cheek AO would have gotten a lot more then a 100 dollar fine, thats pretty ridiculous, he should have gotten a game

There is a big difference between intent to hit and intent to injure, which I don't think he did on purpose. And when I watched it I remember Briere turning around just before he hit him, so take that as you will.

Regardless he probably shouldn't have tried to in the first place, but that's hockey and things like this happen a lot. Just glad he wasn't too injured and that's all you can hope for.

I don't know of any particular instance where he got drilled or taken huge hits, but if the guy can hit that good he can probably take some punishment. I can remember one game where he drilled Phaneuf with a clean hit and pretty much pWned him, later on in the game he got it right back and took it the same.

Oh and by the way he did get a game misconduct.

yea just for that game...but it was a boarding call and a roughing/fighting call, even though he didnt punch anyone....watch the play again on youtube or something...not once during the whole play did he ever see AO and thats because AO was behind him the whole time not once did he ever have the right position, so there is no way he turned at the last second....it isnt like he watched him come at him in a conner and decided to turn his back, it was a total check from behind...oh and whats more ridiculous is he is the only one to get kicked out from his team yet somehow 2 sabres got kicked out??? thats odd, and its really to say hes not at all dirty, he knows how to use his stick pretty good....oh and there are a ton of players that can hit and not take hits.....this is basically equal to the red wings/ave's playoff game years ago...and i bet everyone thought that was dirty as hell, but why not this?? because of the name on the back of the jersey of the guy that did the hitting

I'd actually say most of those are clean hits, I didn't watch all of it but I didn't see any dirty hits til about 40 seconds in or something like that.

I did look at the video a few more times and yeah it does look worse than what I remember, I never meant it was a clean hit but things like that happen and like I said it's just a good thing he wasn't badly injured. You can bet next time they meet it'll be a game to watch. It did look intentional to a degree so I will retract my last statement.

The Sabres got kicked out for fighting, which is to be expected. Oh and btw there was another Cap player who did get a game misconduct for fighting as well so Ovechkin wasn't the only one.

I'm sure it has something to do with him being Ovechkin that he got off easy, but the thing to remember is every player is going to be like that on more than one occasion. It's the nature of the game, for better or worse.

One of my good friends growing up played his first NHL game with the Red Wings last week. I'm sooooo happy he's made it this far. Funny I just saw a picture of my 10th Birthday with him and all our friends back in the day. lol
