  • ricers, they might be good for us?

Well I was out driving around today and I saw a saturn aura that had black spray painted rims and a loud fartcan exhaust. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pics. But it got me thinking. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that ricers who rice up aura's,g6's, and malibus might be a good thing for us. After all, companies that make all of those performance/non perfomance parts/mods/etc for civic's do so because they know that there is a large group of car owners ricers/non ricers, that will spend money on that type of stuff. Right now there isn't exactly a large group of people modding their g6's and an even smaller group that has the money to any serious mods. Now, I was thinking that if enough ricers start to mod out a g6/malibu/aura, that it might encourage said companies to put out more products for the g6/aura/malibu. Which would in turn benifit us all. After all, for every one civic that has been modded for actual performance (ie turbo, headers, camshafts, transmission parts etc) there are a 100 civics that only have a fart can exhaust, oversized wing, and racing stripes. But this was all just a thought.

good point, kinda goes along with the "no publicity is bad publicity" saying. the atention with encourage more aftermarket.
BUT I DO NOT IN ANY WAY SUPPORT RICERING....however if it gets us real preformance aftermarket it wont be so bad.

Well with many g6's selling so cheaply in the used car market it might speed the process along and get the g6 into the hands of more young people (aka high school) who would want to mod out their cars.

Yeah. True. I don't like the thought of being related to the ricer croud though. The tool talking shit to me about his regal kept calling my 6 a ricer pos. And said it is just a riced up GA??????

        Here is his shit talking.
Your car looks like a riced out grand am. Maybe you should find out more info about my car than you would know its capable of better times than your torqueless electronic throttle contol bull shit. It's easy to get a stock regal gs to run 14's. If I can run 14.8 with bald tires with 41k. Than its easily faster than your car with your mods lol. Plus I have more mods than your gay ricer intake and garbage exhaust. Last time I checked regals are a nicer car than some pontiac gay6.
I only told him that the stock 07 g6 gtp runs atleast a 14.5. The Aura ran a 14.5 and weighs 200 lbs more than me.

you should ask him how he'll feel about getting beat by a "riced up GA" Besides if his car is so good, why doesn't put $50 on the line and prove it.

As soon as parents start handing their sedans down to the kids, who will strap a fartcan /picnic table on to anything , an aftermarket might develop, but i wouldn't hold your breath.

If the demand is there, sooner or later the after-market will follow. If this is the case, sure we would benefit from it in terms of increased performance parts availability. But at the same time the G6's image would be permanently ruined by the majority of people whose only mod is to rice up their vehicles.

good point it would tarnish our image. we should continue on and do it by ourselfs as a forum if possible, turn it into a aftermarket powerhouse~w00t!
