  • need info on mustang and ga gt? help please 0-60 etc

Ok, I was wondering if anybody had some info on a

1989-1990 ford mustang GT with the 5.0L v8 and 5spd stick,

1993-1994 Pontiac Grand Am GT v6 coupe and automatic,

2001-2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6 coupe and automatic.

1999-2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6 and automatic.

I'm looking for 0-60mph, 5-60mph, and 1/4 mile times as reported in
Car and Driver, Motortrend, Road and Track, etc. I am not looking for hearsay or "I think it might do something like"

These are cars that are owned by friends of mine.

The reason I'm asking is that come spring I plan on taking the 6 to the local dragstrip and racing them. Also I got into an argument the other day with my mustang buddy about his gt vs my v6. He says that he would smoke my ass and I say that my car would run dead even with his.
Keep in mind his mustang is 100% stock, with NO mods done to it. The other 3 cars only have an exhaust and an intake done.

I appreciate any help. I tried looking in my old Car and DRiver mags, but unfortunately my collection doesn't go back that far.

Let me say the Grand AMs is the only car your close too and they will be faster.

Now on the 5.0L being orginally a Ford fan the 88/89 5.0L is the fastest of the 5.0s due to the head and pistion Ford used those years. 90 is accally a tad slower then an 89.

Mustang GT 0-60 6.4 (stock) 14.8-15.2 Most your 5.0s are more 0-60 in low 7s

      Grand Am GT 94 0-60 in 7.5sec a 15.9 (weak top end)
Nothing changed in the GT but a few poines and wieght too leaving the 2001 GA GT at the same exact numbers

Accord V6 near the same as the GA GTs 0-60 in 7.4 sec and a 15.7

Most this info I got from this site...
      http://www.hostultra.com/~ford/performance1.htm

Your V6 trim is like a 16.5 car and a 0-60 in 8 sec. Unfortinally you are the underdog. Only way you would be any match and be the faster stock for stock is a GTP.

Remember the 5.0Ls respond VERY well to mods. Just exhaust and a CAI drops the 5.0 numbers in the quartermile sometimes by a 1/2sec so it would be more like 14.4-14.6. The 5.0s came from the factory with really very restrictive exhaust and intake.

okay thanks. The only two I'm really concerned with are the mustang and the honda. I don't mind losing to a pontiac.

Keep in mind that the mustang is 100% stock with NO mods. I'm not looking to beat him, just to keep up which he says can't be done.

My car is modifiyed a little, with exhaust, 93 octane vectortune, intake(soon to be finished) and I do have better tires than him.

As for the honda, Well, I kinda sorta have to beat it? don't I?

with those mods your g6 gt should be doing 0-60 in like 6.5-6.4 secs. I only have the stage 3 intake and 91 vector tune and I'm doing 6.8-6.7 seconds according to my dashhawk. I'd say it would be a close race. The vector tune really helps.
