Okay heres the dealio.

having a mental debate right now about what to do for an exhaust system. Im thinking of just getting the mufflers to the exhaust system that i want and having them welded into the stock exhaust. if i am correct both the exhaust system and the stock exhaust have 2.5 inch piping so the mufflers could be welded in flawlessly. Now granted ive read there are a couple kinky spots in the exhaust so it wouldn't be the exact same sound/performance but i think itd be pretty close. Also the stock exhaust isn't stainless and the SLP Loudmouth II system is fully stainless.

the big ball buster here is that the system is 680 bucks shipped to my door and the mufflers are 180 shipped to my door. so if i get the mufflers only i can powder coat my rims and maybe a few other small things.

Performance over appearance.

What's the point of having a good looking car when you don't have the money under the hood to back it up?

Full exhaust all the way.

youll probably regret it later down the road and put a whole exhaust system on there..... everyone seems to

Stainless Exhaust all the way!! You won't want the normal piping once it starts breaking down!! :woot:

But I think I would go Borla or Spintech instead!! :cheers

bah....paying 680 for a pipe is waay too much in my book

A good and reputable muffler shop can duplicate any brand name exhaust and you can customize it to your liking.

How much are do the headers cost? why not install headers, then add a custom exhaust?

Appereance mods... not needed IMO, save that dough for tires :gtr:

I wish that's what I did, but no, I paid for the GTR.

your not gonna get the mandrel bends that the full exhaust can offer..

therefore.. local shop wont be any better then your stock set-up.. the mandrel machine is very expensive.. and theres really not that many out there.. (ie.. i believe indiana has MAYBE 3 shops.. )

that much for exhaust isnt worth it in my book, just drop your cat and resonator throw on the mufflers and your set

save the money for some other upgrades

this I completely agree with in the interim. I took my stock mufflers off and welded in straight pipe and am now thinking about playing with adding aftermarket mufflers back there to just see how things sound with different mufflers. Eventually I WILL have a full aftermarket exhaust from headers to the tips. Playing around now though is much cheaper and at least makes the car sound different

well this wont be for playing. whatever i do, will stay until it falls off the car.

I'd go with the Spintech exhaust. Thats what Leon, did and that thing sounds badass, especially if ur riding shotty with the windows down.

he has 2006, there is no spintech for 2004 unless i cut bumper.

yeah for longevity sake im leaning towards full exhaust as it will be winter driven and SS exhaust will last FOREVER

^its hard to pull the trigger on decisions like that. I was litterally paying for the corsa sport then I read on the big boards about the newly released kooks street screamer. Still waiting to see how that thing sounds since the only vid is the SC'ed massively modded goat

looks like the full exhaust is winning. plus i highly doubt you will regret it. neither will your girl when she rides in the car :rob:

lol. after today i had a fking riced out cavalier with a park bench spoiler and dragon decals nod at me as if we were car modding amigos (i flipped him the bird after he nodded) im positive im going full exhaust. im so tired of ricers dude. i have always thought ricers were funny, but at this point they just make me mad. this fucking moron in this cavalier looked 16, rolls in blarin rap music with what sounds to be some gigantic walmart sub and looks over and nods...hell no.

Actually I take back my original vote, if I had a big V8 this is what I would do:

Take your exhaust get a nice, low rumble, something that sounds good, but not over the top amazing!! (so maybe just replace the muffler) Then for when the retards pull up beside you put some of these puppies on there, and with the flip of a switch unleash the ROAR!!!!

Take these:

x2 of these: (for the end, so you do not ruin the butterflies)

And Make this to own all the wannabees: :cheers

I love electric cutouts, they are definitely one way to go. Personally I would just go with a loud full exhaust instead of doing cutouts

as for the peanut gallery.. forget the 'cut-outs'.. all you need is the pair of Z06 mufflers, and a mild-to-wild controller..

however.. go with the full exhaust with or without the vette muffs.. I wanna see this thing this summer..
