  • How to fix glove department?

    Well while installing my deck which i didnt install i took apart the whole dash and now i cannot get back together the glove department..it just isnt wanting to close without the 2 screws that hold up that little metal piece i know its hard to see what im talking about but here is a picture for you all

    I did not look at this thread before hand and i took off the screws that have the red X on them now the screws dont fit any suggestions or screw sizes please let me know its a shame when people come into my car and this doesnt shut
    please help a fellow 6er

    You took them off and they won't go back in?

      yeah exactly like i took apart the dash to get the deck in and one of the things you have to do is take off that piece but not those actual screws because thers no need to do so but once i took them out i put everything back together and that one piece (that loop where the lock thingy clicks in) wont go on due to the screws not going in properly

        Just take it apart again, make sure the holes are aligned (don't ever force anything), and then try to put it back together.

        That's how I used to do it with electronics.

          You got your screws mixed up.

          They're not all the same length. Chances are you're using screws from one of the other holes and they're too long.

                Theres not a whole lot of difference.

                The long ones might be 1/8th of an inch or less longer.

                  I know what the problem is now so your guys help would be appreciated well those screws where the x's are that hole is starting to stretch out due to my friend trying to make the screw fit with pressure is they're certain things i can buy to hold a screw on over top of it or....

                  anything would be appreciated this is a pain in the ass lol

                    I would recomend looking very close at all of the screws that you have. i would also take a look at what the back of the latch looks like. also i would take that glove box pannel off so that i can see the whole thing in my hands as i re attach the latch.

                        There always is Duct tape or Krayze Glue or Gorilla Glue or well... oh... JB Weld for plastic, and apoxy or sylicone, Roofing tar....

                        hhhnmmmmmmm....

                              I look at the thread title, think someone's lost or ripped a glove, then end up reading about holes, screwing and an 80 year old's veegee. G6 Performance FTW!
