Prolly sealing in the AM, just got home from Wal-Mart after work. Ended up getting QuickSteel epoxy putty, which will harden, and then can paint black. The Permatex Black Silicone Sealant doesn't harden, so decided not to use it.

Yes, keep us updated. This will be pretty neat.

I'm with Wicked about not needing an A-Pillar unless it was necessary but this will be good down the line eventually....like when I get extremely bored. =D

Re: Making my own G6 Triple Guage A-Pillar Pod...

Well, I've already killed my battery 3x, no display to show it's low. Have wanted a radar detector, but didn't want to be taking in and out of car everytime I got out with top down. You can't put in glove box, center console, or trunk. None of them lock. I have the radar sensor on my alarm, but that won't stop grab and run. And I like a oil pressure gauge because I blew a car engine in the past because there was basically no oil left, but couldn't here the banging rod because I had the stereo pumped up and was doing about 90 whwn all of a sudden "KLUNK...SPUTTER...SPUTTER...BANG...SPUTTER...SPLA TTER...CRUNCH!!!!!"

That crunch was a 18-wheeler pulling over to help me, just a little too close, opened the door and ripped right out of my hands as the tractor trailer mashed the door ....they don't come off the hinges like they show on TV. Lucky to be here today. Oh yeah, then he goes and drives off. Bastard didn't know he almost killed me till he walked to the back of his truck.

Oh yeah, that's why I like gauges, you know what's goin' on a lil' better. And for people who said the pillar was too big already and didn't want to add to it, it doesn't block anything. The pillar is so wide, eats it right up.

No, No, No! That was 1987 2 weeks b4 X-Mas with a '82 Mercury LN7, a POS that I was repairing more than driving. It was a Ford Escort chassis with a body that looked a lot like the Mustang hatchback of the day somewhat (people kept asking about my 'Stang).

You list some good points on what you're using the pods for. Radar is illegal here in VA, but the others would be nice to have and cool to watch I guess. Lol, just keep up the work and I'll eventually get to doing something of the sort for the hell of it out of boredom.

Finished applying the Quick Steel. Very hard to work with and starts curing almost immediately. Wasted 3x as much as I used. They could of made it a little wetter to spread easier, and while rolling it out kept sticking to my gloves and breaking. A little messy, but the gaps are filled. Next is sanding, I hate sanding.

I think I shoulda used the Permatex Black Silicone Sealant, then I wouldn't have to be sanding and painting. Hopefully I can pull this off

ah dont worry; once its sanded and painted you wont even be able to tell that its a DIY project. Looks like its going to turn out well man. Good job so far.

Ended up that I just finished pulling it back apart and took off all the Quick Steel putty, came right apart with little effort.
Was able to clean up the pillar real well, but the pods was another. So I cleaned it up best I could and painted it. Didn't
want to paint the factory pillar in case the black's don't match the rest of the car.

Got my gauges, just waitin' for the radar. No sense in taking pics of the gauges now, for they're tinted and can't see
                            them until they have power.

I think I might pass out because of all the fumes in my apartmebnmhwem , glkryp i r sd45

The fumes are pretty bad though, guess I can open the sliding glass door.
