Re: HOW TO - remove the intake resonator in one piece way #

The only problem with taking it out through the headlight hole is you cant see the
bolt that needs to come out from that angle.
Also depending on year (yes they made several versions of it) it may not fit through the headlight opening
without you cutting it in half.

          I just removed the gonkulator...
I find it funny that it's possible to take most of the front end apart with very few tools and a few good solid yanks.

any way. for sure it sounds different. we will see if it makes a power or MPG difference.

          Thanks for the tip guys!

So long to the world's UGLIEST piece of plastic My V6 sounds like...well, a V6 finally ...such as easy mod, if you can take a tire of the car, use the back end of a hammer, know how to unscrew a bolt..congrats, your POS excuse for an engine part is in the trash where is should be! But just a tip, instead of using the hammer on some of the plugs, it worked easier to use the plyers to pull out the plugs, just a strong grip, and a little yank and they're out! Also, I gotta give props to pontiac for giving us a decent jack! I just used the stock, roadside jack, and a jack stand..and its out

Well I followed the instructions and took the piece of junk out this afternoon. I suffered only a couple of abrasions and had to wash a fair amount of dirt out of hair, but it's done! The sound with my CRABS set up is improved and I now am allowing the the engine to breathe much better. I guess I should have oainted that caliper while the wheel was off and I would have only 3 left.

This seems easier that I first thought. Might give it a try, anybody know if it can come back to haunt me warranty wise? Say they had to fix something close by and noticed it gone.

Same hunk of plastic on the 3.6 GXP? I took mine out on the GTP I had but the air box on the 3.6 looks a bit different than I remember, can someone shed some light before I jack my car up?

Same.....there are several versions of the resonator but they are all about the same size and bolted to the same place.

                            Fascia makes no diff....
