  • Tuner question

Okay I have a VMS tune ECM/TCM 3.5L 93 octane in my g6 and was wanting to take it out and drop the factory ECM and TCM back in. When I installed the tuner I have now I had to use the Dashhawk to learn the new tune. Would I have to do the same going back to the original ECM/TCM or could I just pull my modified tune and put the factory one back in without doing anything else?

    Thanks for any help!

    Re: Tuner question

Is your tune on a completely separate ECM/TCM? If so, you probably could get by just replacing it. If it is a piggy back unit, you might have to do a relearn so the ECM/TCM can relearn the normal parameters. Never used this tune though so YMMV

      Re: Tuner question

Yep, the tune I have listed above is a separate ECM/TCM unit. I have the factory ECM/TCM in a box. I'm wanting to swap it out because i'm going to be doing some traveling and I'm not sure if the gas stations where i'm traveling only have 91 octane gas. My current tune is for 93 octane and didnt want to run into problems so would rather just drop it back to factory and use regular gas.

      Thanks
