  • Mysterious coolant leak

I'm sure there are plenty of threads on this topic, the couple that I have read either point to the water pump, or head gasket.

I currently have an issue with a leak that leaves about a 10" diameter wet spot in my driveway every day or two. The odd part is that it is on my driver side. Right near the front bumper. The drain plug is bone dry. Are there any hoses I cannot see that I should check?

Also, is there a way to pressure test? I'd hate to have my mechanic replace the radiator without knowing there is a pin hole or leak in it.

Any other suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

My car is an 08 G6 sedan with the 3.5L v6.

A pressure test can be done. I'd look around the radiator with a flashlight.

      Re: Mysterious coolant leak

Had a small leak before draining, flushing with distilled water, and refilling my radiator with new Prestone dexcool 3 years ago. I used these tabs and haven't had a leak since.
