  • For Sale Homelink Overhead Consoles

Updating this at 9-26-2016 - New pictures plus convertible option

Also, I have made up PLUG AND PLAY harnesses for these, which will be included with the price. No modifications to the car will be necessary. connections are soldered, heat-shrinked, and harness electrical taped. I have 2 harnesses made. Will make one more. Won't be making more after this.

    1) Grey homelink with sunroof button
    2) Grey homelink with sunroof button
    3) Tan homelink with sunroof button

$50 shipped with Plug and Play harness

Also, for those convertible owners WITHOUT onstar, I have a DIY option for you. These mirrors use the same mirror mount, but different connectors than the G6. They have Homelink, Compass, and Autodimming. There should only be 3 wires that you have to run: Power, Ground, Reverse Signal (for autodimming cancel while in reverse.)

    Asking $50 shipped for these.

Would you be willing to reserve the one with the sunroof button for 24 hours?

Just a note: These will fit directly into the place of your original console, but you will need to hook up Power and Ground to the Homelink unit, and optionally the Illumination wire if you want the buttons to light up when the lights are on.

I hooked one of these up in my Wife's G6, but can't recall what wires I used. Just be careful, as one of the power wires only comes on when the overhead lights are on or the Door is open.

This is not "Plug-n-Play" in the sense that you'll be able to just plug it into a connector and have it work. Physically, it will fit into the space with no modifications. It will require you to locate and tap the wires for Power, Ground, and optionally Illumination.

Correct. In the picture, you can see that there is a pigtail included that has 6-8" of wire off the plug. You would wire that up to the wiring in your car, then you'll be good to go. I attempted to get the whole harness when I did the one in my wife's car, but for some reason, GM decided that it should be part of the main body harness, so I stopped trying to remove it when I reached the back seat and it went through the firewall. Just easier to splice it in.

What wires do you recommend splicing them into?

                          Re: Homelink Overhead Consoles

I got this from the saturn forum, which is what I had used when I did the one in my wife's car:

For the addition Homelink a wire harness pigtail is needed. The car isnt prewired. Fortunatly, a similar console I purchased for my Suburban a few years ago came with one. The Suburban is prewired, so it wasnt needed and put away. I tapped into the 12v constant for the reading light and ground for the LED's. Programmed the Homelink and it worked the first try as well.

The connector for the Homelink controls on the Aura is a three position connector with only the outer terminals having wires. The connector I used has wires on all three terminal positions. I found that with the center wire connected to the interior illumination wire, the small LEDs on the three buttons light up. Only thing is, they light up green. So I left them disconnected. Later I might change them with orange LED's.

Bumping this. I updated the first post with what I currently have, and I also am now including plug and play harnesses for them. I will be testing the harnesses in my wife's car before shipping to insure they work. If you do not have the overhead console with map lights currently, this will require more work/parts on your end and will NOT be plug and play.
