  • **Review** OBX Catback Exhaust

    Brand: OBX Racing
    Price: $285.00 + Free Shipping
    Purchased From: Amazon.com

Installation: Very easy install, just jack the car up and get going. The exhaust had the wrong sized hangers so I just used duct tape to increase the size to fit properly. Also the mid pipe kept slipping and coming loose to where it would hit the ground, so I used a metal wire clamp thing and bolted it to the subframe. EASY FIX and not a pain. It didn't come with a new exhaust gasket but others did receive one. Oh well, didn't mine getting a new one, it was only $6. Other than that, bolts right up!

Installation Time: Less than 45 minutes, plus a trip to Autozone for a gasket =)

Any Installation Tips You Have: It would have taken less than 30 minutes if you have a lift LOL

    Quality of Part: 10
    Product Performance: 10
Would you Recommend to Others: YES! People! Just because this exhaust is $285 does not mean its crap. It does not have any rasp at all and is very quality material. Great sound and great price, wouldn't have done it any differently.

Any Other Comments: When you take your stock exhaust off, turn the car on! It sounds so mean!!!! Haha

I WILL HAVE PICS SOON! And I will upload a quality video soon also.

Good and informational review. Thanks for your contribution!

I still don't understand why you just didn't go with a muffler delete if you don't have inspections to go through.

        Re: OBX Catback Exhaust

Well my original plan for the my exhaust was to get it custom, but..... Labor and piping was so expensive. So my thought was to buy a pre made bolt on catback (OBX) and then replace the muffler to add a better sound. But after I installed the OBX, it sounded great so no need for the swap

I'll second everything said in here. I have the exhaust as well, and its great for the price. I had no issues with fitment, might be hit or miss, but sounds minor anyways... Deleting the muffler might sound good on some of the engines, but IMO the LX9 needs it or it just sounds bad

You don't have to be a smartass; that's what causes feuds. The only reason why I said that was because bj talked up the sound of his car when he took his muffler off. In fact, he said it sounds mean.

Actually he meant when you take the exhaust off. Meaning off right after the cat. I drove my car with it like that for the last several weeks before i got my sidepipe put back on with a new tip. Which also sounds freaking amazing.

This is true. Sorry for the confusion. But I agree with shibby, a muffler delete probably sounds better on your car. I don't like the sound of it on mine.

I know what he said, but the resonator doesn't change it all that much.

I will get the video in a week . Shibby has a video on his progression page of the car at idle and revs. Keep in mind it is on a cell phone, and it still sounds good. I will gt a quality video asap

If anything, you could just chop the obx muffler off and put in either two mufflers and or one to create the dual and it will still sound good
