    Gents,

The Chevy SS is expected to be released sometime this year as some of you may know. now after looking at the car up and down in picture it appears to be a Pontiac G8 GXP 2.0, which bring me to a interesting question. Do you guys think it would be possible to put the G8 body, emblems and all on the 2013 Chevy SS?

if so it would be a interesting project.....

    no..

the SS is indeed the next generation G8 GXP. The 8 was brother to the gen 3 Holden Commodore, and the SS will be brother to the gen 4 Commodore. This being said, the platform had a redesign large enough to be legally sold as a new car. (merely rebadging the G8 was illegal in some states)

you hit the nail on the head of where it came from, just not going to work as thought. The updates to the commodore are similar to the changes the mustang went thru a couple years back (11 to 12, or 12- 13 - someone more into mustangs could elaborate). tucks and tweaks to the body make interchangeable parts non-existent.

I've been following the Chevy rumors since early '11 when whispers of the SS came to life. It had a few different names.. but settled on SS. It is being labeled as a 'Halo' vehicle, and includes 'new to Chevy' features and parts. Best future guess is ANOTHER redesign in FY2016 and production to move stateside. A possible rename may happen. Chevelle has been 'retrademarked' by GM just 3 months ago. Could go on a 2 door SS, and become the SS Chevelle, or could go on a small BRZ/Miata fighter. In all likelyhood, the SS will transition from the Zeta platform to the Alpha in '16 alongside the Camaro, and become lighter, meaner, and receive the next gen of small blocks (LT family).

May not bolt up right. Indeed very close but I think it's just different enough where it won't work.
You'd need everything, front and rear fenders, including front and rear bumpers, and it wouldnt look right with the SS indented doors, IF they all fit up even.
IMHO.. revert back to Holden fasia if anyone was to mod it...

I know, right? - not many American Cars since Pontiac was dissolves has peaked my interests, but this SS looks mighty sharp, IMHO.

              Re: Ponder this....

The SS (stupid ass name, btw) is a boring looking car for what it represents. Sorry, GM, you missed the mark again. Atleast the new Stingray Corvette has it right, AND will be similarly priced to the SS. I'll be waiting for the Alpha platform car that the SS will eventually spawn. Until then, I can lust after the Cadillac ATS-V.
