  • Led Lights Pulse to music

Ok..My plan is too have led lights pulse to the music in my car. Obviously this is only for show and not for driving around. Dont care your opinions on doing this, so save your flaming. If you dont feel like helping, be immature somewhere else.

Trying to find which lights to order. I want about 4 strips, 2 for the front foot wells and 2 for the back, thinking under the seats for the back.
I would like to have more than 1 color on the light, so i can switch it up from time to time, or possibly have it switch different colors during the song?

Also does anyone know of any good programmer for the pulsing to the music?

Opinions on this? Its $60 for 4 ,18 colors and 2 cycle modes.

I didn't buy these exact ones, but I bought some that go to the beat of the music off this site a couple years ago now. I thought they were alright, but my biggest gripe was that when there was no music playing they'd flash at some constant rhythm which became irritating. If your music would have a 'soft' spot with no bass, etc it would still flash when really it should have stopped for a second or two. Ended up just turning them onto the solid on mode and that was it. My roommate got a different set from them and it was the same way.

Post some feedback if you end up going with those. Looks like they might be a little better than what I'd gotten.

Well I was going to have 2 switches for it, one where i can turn them on constantly without flashing and than another for them to pulse to the music.

I was going to see if it would be better to hook them up to some kind of programmer rather than the sensor thing that comes with the lights already. But with your problem, you got ones from couple years ago, technology is very advanced now so probaly a huge difference now. Im just unsure if I want all these different colors, or maybe ones with say just 4 colors.

I have been planning on doing the same thing just havent gotten around to it yet. Here is the link to the place and kit I plan on purchasing. Also with this kit im adding the piece interior so keep that in mind cuz i know thats what you want. it comes with a control box, tons of colors and modes, and has a music sensor. I am gett interior and underglow so this is the kit im most likely gonna get. If you want just interior check out the interior section. Ive heard good things about LED Glow. Check it out and let me know!!

Yea I may replace mine depending on your opinion of what you purchase. I went with just red as I thought all the colors was just a bit overboard.

Re: Led Lights Pulse to music

I bought a set from this site.
LEDGlow’s 4pc 7 Color LED Interior Lights Enhance the Inside of Any Car or Truck with 7 Solid Color Illumination Modes Combined with Lighting Effects.

This set to be exact, and I don't like them. The constant flash is still there when there is no music playing. And where there is music playing it's just white light... I can see where they tried to make it different colors based on how hard the music is hitting but it just hits either too hard, or too soft, which brings us back to the constant flashing of one color.
I'm going to return these. I've already bought my next set to replace them.

I have these set up through my amp for my subs. They hit PERFECTLY to the music... if the music fades so do the lights. If there is no music. There is no lights. Turn the volume up and the lights get brighter and hit more. And Vice versa.

Never thought I would buy something next to all the chrome stuff at Wal-Mart. Looks like I was wrong

End rating of the LED Glow lights? 1/10
They work, just not like anybody wants them to.

Honestly if you want this to work best just buy some Leds and run them to the power wire of the amp. This will cause it to brighten or pulse on bass notes! Easiest and most efficient!

Re: Led Lights Pulse to music

Its super easy I got it in mine
tip 031 from radio shack for 1.25$ is all it costs
heres the vid on how I did it and it will only work with an ipod or something that has a high output it uses a transistor
it works great and I love mine ill post a vid later of them
                      1) buy from radio shack one aux cable and one TIP31 transistor and whatever lights you want and also one aux cable splitter so you can listen to the music while the lights blink
                      2) Take the TIP which will have 3 legs on it laying it flat so you can see the writing on the front of it.
                      3) Take one end of your auxillary cable you just purchased and snip the end of it off and strip the outside protectant off of it. There will be two wires on the inside and some bare copper wires. Twist the copper wires that are bare together and put them off to the side and strip the two colored wires and twist them together.
                      4) Now you l.e.d.s will have a + and a -. identify which is which.
                      5) Now back to the TIP the far left leg will receive the colored wires or the aux cable and the far right leg will receive the bare wires of the aux cable
                      6) The ground from your l.e.d.s will go to the middle leg of the transistor
                      7) Now for your power source. The positive of your 12v source will goto your L.E.D.s and the negative will go to the same leg you hooked up the bare aux wires to or the far right one.
Plug in the aux cable into the splitter and the other female spot on the splitter will goto your radio aux port and the male end of the splitter will go into your music source.
Viola they are pretty sweet I love mine.
P.s. if using an Ipod have the volume turned all the way up the ipod to make sure plenty of electricity will be put through the transistor
                      Have fun

I am going to end up doing this possibly. If you did run the wires to the amp, how would one go about doing this? I was thinking if you fused the positive wire on the lights it would protect for shorting something out and if you attached the ground of the lights to the ground cable on the amp as well. Is this a possibility? I unfortunately do not own a Pontiac anymore :\. I drive a 09 Scion tC now, like any car, I don't want to fry anything but I would like some ambiance to the interior(no exterior lighting, ew).

Hmmm well I wouldn't suggest doin it this way but make sure that you a) include a resistor for the l.e.d. if not already included and b) maybe a diode to keep your amp from surging too much power to the light. Not exactly sure what would work the best if doing it this way :/ but if you find a way to work this out holler im interested in how this way will work!!!!
