  • **Review** Eagle Eyes Dual CCFL Halo Projector Headlights

    Brand: Eagle Eyes

Black or Chrome: I got the Chrome, Its Finish looks awesome!

    Price: $299 + shipping ($39.22)

    Purchased From: SaberSport
    http://stores.ebay.com/SABERSPORT

    or contact Sam at samip@sabersport.com

Installation: Moderate. I discovered that the adjustment screw turns another screw.

This screw is internal on the stock lenses but sticks out the back of the EE (eagle Eyes) lenses.

    Stock:

    Eagle Eyes:

When installed I noticed it was hitting on the metal. This pushed the headlight out.

You can see that in the next two pictures:

So what I did was mark it & drill a hole:

    See the mark?

drilled the hole & primered it so it wouldnt rust:

    Painted it to match:

Its behind the headlight so this is not really needed (paint).

I velcroed the Ballast wire side down to the top of the frame horns.

Installation Time: about two hours going slow & drilling.

Any Installation Tips You Have: I would drill the hole to relieve pressure from the housing that the adjustment screw places on it. Otherwise I believe over time one or the other will break.

Quality of Part: 9 It is really an outstanding headlight. At this point I cant comment on durability but it looks awesome and functions great!

Product Performance: 10....I cant imagine what it will look like with HID's.

    Yes I have them ordered.

HID: Yes they accept HID's. SaberSports says:

You will need H7 and low beam and H1 for high beam. For HID, you will need to drill hole on the back cover to run the wire from the HID bulbs to the HID ballast.
Would you Recommend to Others: Absolutly!

Any Other Comments: Im very impressed other than the screw issue. Maybe other G6 models have an area cut out already...?

As always Im happy to answer any questions.
    ;-)

On a side note I did swap out the turn signal bulbs with stealth bulbs.

They are still orange but dont turn that color until ignited.
    I purchased #3157 from: "CTLumination", www.autolumination.com
    http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm

Stealth bulb and regular stock bulb...can u tell which is which?:

Here are a few snaps previously posted but I wanted to include them in the review:

CCFL Halos are clearly seen facing into the sun!

    Projector FTW!

    Halos:

Light output looks great. Much better than my stockers.

This shot is WITHOUT the high beams:

I stood about 50 feet off in the grass to snap this. I just thought it looked cool:

can you trip down the screw a bit instead of drilling?

I dunno.....I thought about it for about 5 seconds but If you break it (Plastic housing) with pressure from dremmel wheel or saw
then you mess up your ability to adjust. Plus diff bulbs etc may require it at diff settings.

I figured a hole in the metal wouldnt hurt a thing and allow it full motion.

Its really not bad to do and soooo worth it.

this is the only thing holding me back just because i dont really wanna drill but i really want those lights... ill have to think about it, drilling isn't that bad only if you miss judge or miss mark the spot to drill

Email Sam and ask. I tried. Even would like to get them as a vendor here (cause I think they are that nice)
but he wouldnt reply to those emails. Oh well....

I reached in with a small screwdriver and marked it while the light was on.
Then pulled the light to drill. Made it easy cheesy. Then I slowly bumped up
the bits till I went about 3/8" to look stock and give the screw wiggle room if I misaligned it.

It wasnt hard at all. Dont let that stop you.

sure.....I may not immediately install though.....as Im pretty dang happy with them as they are.

                I ordered H7 35 watt 8000K and H1 35 watt 6000k for the highs.

Edit for being slow iPod typer: Question already answered above.

Now to kinda go off topic a bit... Didn't you used to have blue lower recessed grills?... I'm amazed that with all of the car mods we've seen you do, your fogs look more stock than HID or could that just be the camera?

Re: Eagle Eyes Dual CCFL Halo Projector Headlights

I think its a longer bolt than the stocker because its a projector. It allows you more movement.

Drilling means no chance to screw up the light.

My lower grill was always stock. It allows more airflow than the recessed. More air = awesomesauce.
So I went for functionality there.

My fogs have yellow bulbs. No HIDS. They actually look 10X better than my photo can show.
They function great. I dont remember where I got them but I do remember just googling yellow bulbs
with the bulb size and it kicked up.

                            Plug & play.

Aux = Halos & leds only.
                            DRL = proj & halos & leds.
                            lights = same thing.

brights disable fogs the same as usual.

                            Comes with all bulbs.

I hope the review answered your questions Shaun.

The Eagle Eye replacement headlight assemblies for stock also have the screw issue as well. I had to replace my passenger headlight and it is exactly like that. I took a dremmel to the screw, but I recommend drilling a hole into the car instead to be honest. Those headlights look amazing Lampoon.
