On most ECM's.. it just has the program itself / tables for engine management, that's it. When you tune, it just flashes it with new tables / code etc.

The new ECM's in both the G8 GXP and also the new Camaros (same early Camaro's didn't) has things in it that are permament and can't be overwritten that records how many times the ECM has been flashed or "tuned"... so basically if the dealership never flashed your ECM after you got it for a update, of wich there'd be a record of it, they know you tuned your car and your warranty goes byebye for your powertrain.
Ah well... no worry give people time and they'll figure something out. I won't be tuning it for a while if I do end up getting it anyway

It doesn't matter as long as you don't care about powertrain warranty and only if you break something. If something busts major you can just replace it with better stuff unless you block cracks or something.

Torque Curve is better, more torque at slightly lower rpm, few reasons main being larger displacement, and that extra 50hp and 50ft-lb helps. It's the area under the curve that really defines the car.

You know how careful I am with mods, I'll probably research it more when it gets closer to buying time, see if someone found a way around it by then. I do love the Camaro though... I'll keep you updated Erik

Anywho carry on with the topic...

insert generic "fly by wire is stupid" comment here. Also, 04's have no need for intake mani porting from stock as they are already wide open.

...Which is a advantage for more power gains for the LS2 if you port it.. is it not?? lol
