  • Exhaust options vote!!

    Okay heres the dealio.

having a mental debate right now about what to do for an exhaust system. Im thinking of just getting the mufflers to the exhaust system that i want and having them welded into the stock exhaust. if i am correct both the exhaust system and the stock exhaust have 2.5 inch piping so the mufflers could be welded in flawlessly. Now granted ive read there are a couple kinky spots in the exhaust so it wouldn't be the exact same sound/performance but i think itd be pretty close. Also the stock exhaust isn't stainless and the SLP Loudmouth II system is fully stainless.

the big ball buster here is that the system is 680 bucks shipped to my door and the mufflers are 180 shipped to my door. so if i get the mufflers only i can powder coat my rims and maybe a few other small things.

          Performance over appearance.

What's the point of having a good looking car when you don't have the money under the hood to back it up?

          Full exhaust all the way.

Stainless Exhaust all the way!! You won't want the normal piping once it starts breaking down!!

But I think I would go Borla or Spintech instead!!

bah....paying 680 for a pipe is waay too much in my book

A good and reputable muffler shop can duplicate any brand name exhaust and you can customize it to your liking.

How much are do the headers cost? why not install headers, then add a custom exhaust?

Appereance mods... not needed IMO, save that dough for tires

your not gonna get the mandrel bends that the full exhaust can offer..

therefore.. local shop wont be any better then your stock set-up.. the mandrel machine is very expensive.. and theres really not that many out there.. (ie.. i believe indiana has MAYBE 3 shops.. )
