  • Is it safe?

    To wet sand and polish the 3.9 motor?
    I'm looking to polish up under the engine cover and noticed no one has done it

    Mines a little yellow and want to make it shine like my pervious car


    Just making sure its ok to do this before I do something stupid

    well that is aluminum. it has to be polishable. it is going to take some work because it is not a smooth finish. way more corse than the Ecotec motor.

      I've been wanting to do that to mine too. Try it and let me know how it goes.

        haha guess ill try to be the first to do it then lol

        My ecotec took me about 25 hours to get polished after wet sanding

          wouldn't a high pressure washer work perfectly fine on taking the yellow out?!?!

                      but in all seriousness i got a tip from i believe it was GTR on how to do it and i have planned on doing it for a long time but have never gotten around to it. He even wrote me a how to but the message is too old and i cant get it anymore

                        Just google how to polish valve cover or something similiar.
                        300 grit 800 grit 200 grit and move to a good metal polish.Or you can just get it powder coated.

                        Im trying to polish my valve cover but im having a hell of a time removing a VVT sensor.
                        Make me a signature and ill put it in here...
