Re: GM Dropping GMC and Pontiac now?
That still means Pontiac needs to sell high volume, and thats the problem.
If Pontiac became a small, focused brand, it could compete against Chevy as the upscale performance versions of Chevy's (SS no longer offered)
Because you can upsell someone to a Pontiac who walked in looking for a cheap Chevy, you cannot upsell someone to a Cadillac as easily when they were looking for a cheap Chevy.
therefore, you go to Chevy/Pontiac dealer for your cheap, econimical cars, or your performance cars
and you go to Buick/Cadillac dealer for your upscale to luxury cars, it would make more sense to customers
That way someone who thier purchasing range is up to $40k will go to Chev/Pontiac
and someone who is looking to spend above $30k may consider Chev/Pontiac, but is likely to go to Cadi/Buick
