steering wheel controls, possible to add?

i was wondering if it was possible to add steering wheel controls? whats needed, need to be programmed, or not possible at all?

radio controls? they are addable. all you need is the switch bezzel and wiring from te switch to the coil. for the the radio needs to be reset up with the option for wheen controls. i belive UK3

It also depends on if you have the wiring to support it behind the wheel.
mid way through 06 they changed from a 5 wire (unsupportable) to a 7 wire (supportable).

You can push in the sides of the top of your column housing and lift up. You will see a Molex harness there.
Count the wires in it.

so uh...5 wire you say? you sure? and its on the center plug, correct? jus making sure.

Am I sure? just a little bit bud.

Pop your top and look at this molex harness:


you need at least 7 wires in that harness and your good to swap.

See the middle one.....this means your good to add them:



07+ have it standard. It was an option 05-06.

If your a wildman you can go eviscerate another G6 and steal the correct wiring....
Ill let you guess who did that...

so how big/long is that harness? and how difficult to do? if i read things correctly, ill need the wheel (only comes in leather?), harness and dealer visit.
