  • Dupont spray wax w/Teflon

    Brand: Dupont
    Price: Under $10.00
Purchased From: Any autoparts store and pretty much anyplace with automotive section

    Product Performance: (rate 1-10) 10
Would you Recommend to Others: No

Additional Comments: Although i feel this product did a helluva job shining up the paint, I have many complaints. The nozzle allows the wax to overspray anything and everything in the area. If you do not notice overspray that day you will in a few days when it becomes bright white. Even though you think you wiped all of the wax of your car, i will say you did not and to check your car again in a few days. The overspray on rubber (ie.. trim around windows and door handles) is extremely hard to wipe off especially if it bakes for a couple days. Also i have noticed that with our lower valence / fascia (black plastic on the bottom of the bumpers and sides) this product will stain and if bad enough, will stain permantly. But i have to admit that it did give me an extremely shiny car for awhile, but to me the cons out weigh the pros with this product.

    Dupont with Teflon

I wanted to try the stuff but glad you tested it for me. I'll stick with the Meguires NXT.

As far as the Wax on Facia, Mirrors Etc. had the same problem.

Today just before the sky opened up, I decided to try my Meguires High Gloss Tire Shine on all the exterior plastics it either took off or covered up all signs of white and looks better than the day I bought the car.

If you spray it on a microfiber cloth and rub on it makes it a non glossy deep black again.

I do not know how long it will last but will let you know if you are interested.

Yeah I tried a Turtle Wax Polish... would that fit under the same catagory as spray wax or would you say it is totally different?

I always wondered about this stuff, not near enough to try it but nice to hear what you thought about it.

I have used other spray waxes, quick waxes, ect.. I have seen some decent spray waxes, so to say all spray waxes suck, i would have to disagree. When you already have a good wax on the car and you wanna do a quick wax for a show or somethin, sprays work great!

I always keep a bottle of Meg's spray wax in my trunk.. It's just nice for quick jobs when you aren't going to paste it that day!

I've tried the Dupont stuff.. and I would give it like a 5.. I feel it DEFINITELY oversprayed, and it made my old car(haven't tried it on the 6er) look really spotty, like it just wouldn't rub in all the way.

You do know that you are suppose to spray it on the applicator instead of the car?

Unless this stuff actually tells you to, and well than that's reason enough not to use it.
