I don't know where the fuck these came from. Cannot figure it out. They just appeared there.

    Anyway,
This is just in front of the driver door, before the wheel.

And this is under the side view driver side mirror... these are the most mysterious.

I tried scratch-x on one little one. Nothing came. You can barely feel them when you run your finger over 'em slowly.

How long should I let the scratch-x sit on the scratch before wiping it all off?

You don't let Scratch-X sit at all. Make sure the area to be treated is clean. I use a clean cotton terrycloth, put some scratch-x on the cloth and rub the shit out of the scratch. Stop rubbing when the product is nearly gone. Put plenty of effort in the rubbing. It might take at least 3 tries before the scratch will start to go away. Might take at least 5 tries before you're done.

Although if you can feel the scratches. Scratch-X won't take them out. Might make them less visible but they'll still be there.

i can barely and I mean, baaaarely, feel them.... if you just run your finger over them without much thought, you won't feel 'em.

Scratch X takes a lot of work, you don't want to let it dry and for best results rub against the scratch. Put an adequate amount on the towel and rub away... make sure the towel is soft otherwise you'll make it worse.

If your fingernail catches in the scratch you will have to move to professional formulas and machine to get them fully out, even then there is a good chance that it won't come out fully... depending on how much it catches.

Forgot to mention, you will need to re-wax the area you put the scratch-x on.

So I just rubbed the shit out them. Came out half decent. Still visible if you try hard to see 'em, but the white aspect of them is pretty much gone....

Just finished applying wax to the whole car. Going out to wipe down now.

                      Thanks for the help jnak

i had some mysterious scratches on my car this past week when I washed it so what I did was get out some compound and wax and made sure the surface was 100% clean and made sure my finger nail didn't catch it at all. (it was more of a scuff than a scratch) what i did was waxed the scuffed/scratched part 1st then waxed off 3 minutes later then used the compound on the clean surface till i couldn't see the scuff/scratch anymore then waxed again on a clean surface and it was gone. hope this helps some.

Well I had some scratches appear recently too, but they weren't a mystery. "Someone" didn't pull their car into the garage far enough before closing the door.

But after some scratch-x and elbow grease:

                          Scratch-X is the shit.

The garage door would be a nightmare for me...

I have stood there eyeballing it, lining it up as it goes down sometimes hhaha.
