  • Front and rear bowties

Any idea how they are attached? I took out the screws to the bar the back one is set in, and I couldn't see a screw holding it in place, so I assume its some double sided tape. On the front, I saw a metal bar sticking through, but there wasn't anything on the back side attached to it, so I'm thinking thats just an alignment bar. I really want to get some chrome, or at least brushed aluminum, ones to go in, because the gold bowties just don't look good to me (its the only freaking gold thing on the whole car, it looks odd).

I was thinking of blacking mine out but not sure how. Paint? What kind?

I have been considering debadging my car, pulling off the SS and Malibu Maxx. And if I can black out the bowties the car would look very annonymous. Great for speeding up/down I-75!!

Seems we got a wise guy

Anyways, here in a few weekends once the weather stabilizes I'm going to get a heat gun from my buddy and go crazy - he knows a thing or two about fiberglass as well, so I might try to talk him into making me some inserts that I can paint to suit my fancy

Well, I have to wait on the weather to improve anyways. My car looks like shit from all the construction I had to park around a few months ago, so it needs a good detail badly. Besides the badges, I'm going to get rid of the stupid dealer decal too - bastards, its half the size of my trunk . I just figured a heat gun would make things a little easier.

I'm moving apartments at the end of May, but after I get moved in I've already cleared it with the lady to spend whatever we have left on new parts. I got something special in mind for my taillights. If it works, you can be assured there will be plenty of pictures .

So in the next few weeks I'm debadging and tinting, in a few months getting the stage 3 intake and a spare set of headlights and taillights, and towards the end of the year a magnaflow exhaust and a PCM tune if vector has one by then. Should be well on the way to rocket status by then. New wheels and tires by May next year probably, I'll have ~32k miles on them and it will be about time.
