  • BAD wheel hop from a start

I have a 2006 G6 GTP (3.9L V6 6sp) with no performance improvements. It does ride on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. My issue is wheel hop - I have it bad. If I'm driving on the highway the car behaves normally, I can drop it to 4th and gun it with no problem. However, if I do a mildly aggressive start the TC kicks in and the whole car shakes BAD until I let up on the throttle. I'm not sure if either something on my car is faulty and needs to be changed, or if maybe the Pilot Super Sports just grip so much better than regular tires that they're gripping and letting go when other tires would just spin? In the past 2 years I've changed the passenger lower control arm, driver side wheel bearing, clutch, changed brakes and rotors, and had it aligned.

Any thoughts? Is this normal wheel hop? What parts should I be looking at to see if something is failing? and if it is normal - is there anything I can do to help improve it? MMI? poly bushings? etc? I don't know much about that stuff.

    Thanks!

Sounds like you might have a mount broken or need to upgrade

I was just under the car. I was inspecting the sway bar end links - but they seem to be fine. The lower transmission mount on visual inspection seems to be fine, how can I tell if the motor mounts need to be changed? There isn't a thump or clunking when I'm driving or shifting gears. As far as upgrades go, is that really expected in a fully stock car? I was under there measuring the sway bar to replace those bushings. That's a hell of a tight fit under there. Besides sway bar bushings, end-links and motor mounts would there be anything else to looks at, or replace/upgrade while I'm there?
