Engine support frame "k frame"

My GXP recently got in front end collision and the engine support frame is bent and will need to be replaced,
i need to know if it is the same as the other g6 models base or gt

my car is 2008 g6 gxp

The frame is a frame, not matter the trim. All are the same, just engines and electronics are diffrent trim to trim

So my 3.6 will mount to any engine support frame, the mounts are all in the same places for all the engines available?

Yes it will mount into any of the trims avaible. So will the transmitions.

and last but not least,
did the GTP model have a 3.6 like the GXP...
i thought GTP had a 3.9?

2006 was the first and only year for the GTP 3900 V6 4spd manual. In 2007 the GTP got the 3.6L DOHC with the 6spd automatic. The 3900 V6 was still offered but as a Sport GT package upgrade from the 3500. In 2008 The GTP 3.6L became the GXP and the sport GT package was discontined in the coupe, now only avaible in the convertable. No G6 convertable gets the 3.6L also.

Is there a difference to the K-frame or "engine cradle" in the coupe, sedan or convertible?

A dealership parts dept. was nice enough to help me out and said that the part numbers are different from an 07 GTP to an 08 GXP, he said they may fit but he did not want to make any promises..

Why would the numbers be different?

So I take it that your car is waiting to be repaired? What was the price the dealer gave you for both part #'s

Same price, i am looking to buy a salvage vehicle to repair it as its almost 11k worth of parts stock and i can buy a salvage one hit from back or side for <4k

There were 2 different designs for the 08 g6 subframe. And both part #'s are different than a 07 gtp subframe.

MadMoney- it was a bit over 1200 for each, i can get you the exact prices for each tomorrow, and the part numbers

Oh no I was referring to the ? about the engine cradle being different in the coupe, sedan, or conv.. I also need a replacement and there is a coupe just 20 minutes from me for $300.00

hmm,, for only $300 i would say go for it and find out, if it doesnt work out I had a thread as well as another member where people made lists of stock parts they want, so im sure you could sell whatever else might be good on the car here to recoup the cost.

I guess alot of the cost would be the labour but my thoughts are you could get under the car with a measuring tape and alot of time and measure out everything, easiest first step is to call a dealer and get them to run both vins and check the part numbers for you. thats what i did.
