    SHORT BELT 3.6

    This is the how to on replacing the stock serp. belt with a shorter belt for running at the track. It bypasses the power steering,ac and one idler puller.
    Remove the maf and the small strut shock form on the left side of the motor for easier access to the serp. belt if you like. Then use a 1/2 rachet to move the belt tensioner and remove the stock belt. Make sure you pay attention on which way the belt is run so you know. Get your new belt and install it the same way as my drawing. 15-20 minutes to install.

    This is with the new short belt



    New belt belt number 610K6 (duralast) and I got this belt from autozone.

      Yup I actually drove home with the short belt b/c I was lazy one night. I forgot how hard it is to drive w/o ps.

        is it very noticeable with power gain? (you know what i mean)

          should be.... 5 horsepowerish? and better throttle response?


          wish i wasnt so lazy and figured this out on the 3.9... or if anyone has the belt size let me know!

                  Couldn't you just wrap a measuring tape around there and get the closest size to it?

                            Yes, it took me buying 2 belt to get right.

                              they didnt have a measurement of the belts or anything? that's stupid... like, you cant just go tell autozone or pepboys that you want a 23.5inch belt?
